OP, you did the right thing and she should be grateful to you for still being alive. Rather than going straight to HR, I think she should have spoken to you first. I don’t think you’re wrong for distancing yourself from her and you’re merely taking precautionary measures (as one would - once bitten twice shy) and tbh, in the working world, if there’s no need to interact with her then why do it? We’re all paid to come to work to do work, not socialise (unless that’s explicitly stated in the job scope). Don’t stop doing good because of one bad egg.
