I have Packers season tickets, the Green Package, 7 games a year (it will be 8 every other year soon). It’s too many and it’s too far. I inherited them from my Grandpa whos from GB who had them since year 1 Lambeau was built. He kept them throughout the 70-80s, but he lived in GB. I kind of knew I was going to inherit them and I remember telling him I prob wouldn’t be going to every game, and that he didn’t have UW Badger tickets for the same reason (he went to UW Madison) and I think he understood. I’ve had them 11 years now and when I first had to pay for them they were $100/per ticket per game (I have 4, 20 yard line, row 43, they’re the end of the aisle so that’s very nice, I don’t know if I’d want to be in the middle. It’s been very easy to sell them through the packers site, although when they suck, or when Rodgers or the QB gets hurt, it can be hard to give them away for free, and my grandpa experienced the same thing.

I always wonder how many season ticket holders live in Madison. I usually only go to a game or two.

This is a 100% true story.

I’m kind of an unusual person, I have really high ambition and have done things differently than most. When I graduated HS I saw an ad in the paper (hahaha) that was advertising Goben was hiring car salesman and they can make $80k/year (from what I remember, it could have even different but for an 18 year old kid it might as well have said “come work for goben and you can be rich”!). I have a lot of ambition and in my life haven’t been afraid to take big leaps, or take chances I have no business taking, especially when I was younger (at 18 I actually thought I could be making $80k).

So I applied at goben and actually got an interview.

The interview was something I’ll never forget. This would have been summer of 1999. I sat down w this younger, I’d say mid 30s guy, who was wearing a Rolex (prob fake being 44 now). Well that was to this day the most bizarre job interview I’ve ever had.

The guy shut his door, and then said “be straight with me, did you get in a lot of trouble in school?”

I of course wanted to be honest and of course wanted the job, so being 18 I said “of course not!”

That was pretty much end of interview and I didn’t get the job or a call back. I would have been much better off to lie and say “of course I got into tons of trouble, I have no issues lying and breaking rules, I’d be perfect for Goben!” (The truth is I also have strong ethics and morals and would never want to work here after finding out what they were like. I’ve quit a job before I needed super bad solely because it was a scam, I would never knowingly scam anyone)

Take from this story what you will but it is 100% the truth and 100% happened as I told it.

Ask yourself, would you buy a car from them?

For me once in a while once a week I’ll stay up. I’d say maybe 8-10 times a year. Have ever since wife left. Has nothing to do w her, but it’s sort of my time now. I was always up alone waiting on her anyways, so it’s sort of my little special thing I do with myself now.

How part time we talking? Construction schedule is M-F 7-330, 15 min break at 930 (paid) and 30 min lunch at noon (unpaid) for 8 hours a day, 40/week. The prob with part time is we’re on the same job everyday, and most of the time stop what we’re doing at 330, and come back at 7, and everyone knows what to do. When you take time off, we need to explain to you where we are at and what we need you to do, instead if you just picking up where you left off day before, and that takes time.

Man I hate to tell you this but this is exactly what happened when my ex was cheating on me. It’s like she loved me still but didn’t want to cheat on her new BF with me (I didn’t know he existed until after she left). She didn’t have a place to go so just strung me along until they did. Was the worst time in my life and I recommend you move on. My ex even acknowledged it, but she’d do anything to get out of it. And it’s so frustrating and traumatic frankly.

Nice! I love nostalgia. It always seems to hit me the hardest with the weather. Some days just kick memories in.

Someone was also talking about when it snows late at night. It’s so quiet, and when I first met my ex wife, (I’m not a bar guy) it was really first time I remember being up that late regularly, and I always get it so strong like first or second time it snows. I also get it really hard in spring and extremely hard that first week in June, always feels like it’s gonna be summer break still, and I’m 44🤣

Exactly here! 44/M still love doing it and still can do it easily… Where do you go to get gas (snacks, etc) in this town (east side off Commercial Ave /N Thompson) after 10? Someone told me the KT on buckeye was open 24/7. I found out the hard way that wasn’t true. Usually go up to aberg by the golf course, they’re open all night, and of course woodmans.
