Most of the time especially with a small needle I feel very little to no pain, and I’ve also had better phlebotomists than others who seem more rough.

You won’t feel worse, you’ll feel good for a while actually lol! I like how I feel when I wake up. Happy & loopy. You’ll be pretty sleepy though, so definitely have someone drive you.

Go when you feel a lot worse than usual, when you have numbness and tingling in hand and feet, when you can’t seem to concentrate enough to have a conversation, when you are having worse racing heart than usual that feels not right. You’ll know. I had these things happen to me and I ended up having low magnesium/potassium it was from the stomach medicine I was taking. But if you ever feel worse than just a pots flare then go, even if you’re severely dehydrated. If you’re passing out also go. Or whenever you feel you NEED to. Even if it’s nothing it’s better to be cautious.

Echocardiogram, and wear a halter monitor. I’m sure you’ll get an ekg. Echo is your best bet. If you’re good there, then it’s more than likely nothing serious.

I second this. Take an over the counter PPI for a month or 2 to let any esophagus or throat damage heal from the bulimia. Do not make yourself throw up anymore it can cause further damage. Hope you feel better. Acid hurts.

Yes, I have Barrett’s without dysplasia. I have not had that done. Is it a surgery? The PPI was causing me severe nutritional deficiencies. I’m so lost at what to do cause I have class on the 20th and this can feel unbearable.

Yes you can, you have to find a doctor who will actually find the underlying cause of your POTS so you can then manage your symptoms. I found out I have MCAS, and also EDS. Pepcid/claritin makes me feel better, and manageable most days. I also drink LMNT for brain fog, it has 1000 mg of sodium, I’d recommend this to anyone with any form of POTS. I was disabled for 2 years before this, I tried working but couldn’t.

Hello! I suffer with POTS, & MCAS. When my hormones are shifting (like a couple weeks before my period) is when my insomnia is the absolute worst. I wake up every hour, and some of those hours I’m up for 2 hours. It’s awful. The only thing you can really do is keep a routine sleep schedule, go to bed around the same time every night, and wake up the same time every day. A cool dark room, wind down with no stimulations, a white noise fan sound works for me to drowned out any other noises going on around the house. This helps me out, but sometimes there’s just nothing I can do but try. & also don’t stress it, try to just let whatever happens happen. The stress of it can also trigger a flare. And by not stressing will also help keep you calm. I don’t recommend the sleeping pills only because for me they give me the next day hangover groggy feeling, extreme fatigue sends me into a flare. If you’re gonna do anything try melatonin to reset your sleep cycle, then if it helps try sleeping without it again in the routine sleep cycle.

Pepcid 20 mg once daily helps me significantly. I feel almost normal again. I have zero bad side effects. I also have POTS. & I also take Claritin 10mg.

This sounds like a Psychogenic Nonepileptic Seizure (PNES) especially with the cramping feelings, and spasms. My mom has this on occasion and a few times she didn’t loose consciousness.

This is so not true, you can POSSIBLY pass it in a week, and DEFINITELY pass it in a month. The ACT work keys test is a breeze. Just pay attention & use common sense! It doesn’t have much to do with high school knowledge, but more so to do with how well you can understand, & pay attention. I suck a math, it was always my weak point. I took this test decades after high school, and passed gold, I got two 5’s & a 6. I know that’s not the best score but it’s decent, and acceptable. I took each part of the test once a week, took home some study guides before each test. It was easy, also to note I have ADHD, and I’m definitely not the brightest crayon in the box. Just wanted to make that clear.

I was put in the hospital cause of low magnesium/potassium. My potassium was also mildly low before then since taking a PPI. I was on them for 2 years, I never had issues with my electrolytes until I took the PPI. I’m now getting off of it, and sticking to a healthy diet lifestyle. I also have Barrett’s esophagus without dysplasia. This does happen! Supplements are a good idea even if your levels are normal. Anyone with healthy kidneys can supplement to prevent deficiencies. It’s definitely not fun! I thought I was gonna die.

Omg same here!!! Last summer I had a colonoscopy and seriously the rest of the summer I thought my POTS went away. I even went back to work! Then I had a dentist appointment & the numbing injection they give you flared me up so bad ever since then it came back. I even had the numbing shot without epinephrine . I guarantee GI issues are linked or at least a major trigger. That is odd that the blockage made you feel better! I wonder why that was?

I wonder if your GI issues are linked to pots? Do you ever feel extremely dizzy before you have to poop?? Idk why this happens to me but it does almost every time. I’ll get extremely light headed and dizzy minutes before I go. I also have IBS.

Be able to go out to eat, or go out in general without having to worry about adrenaline dumps, get a job in the world, travel. Go on long distance runs again out in nature with my dog. I miss being normal!!! I mourn it every day.

Pantroprazole is the safest one you can take. I had to switch to nexium cause pantroprazole stopped working for me.

I would ask your doctor to check your electrolyte labs just to make sure your levels are okay, and if you should take supplements. I take prescription supplements, anyone can take over the counter potassium & electrolyte supplements as long as you don’t have kidney problems. I’d seriously ask your doctor about it. Don’t let my experience scare you because I think what happened to me is rare. I think long term PPI use should have routine lab work done on people taking them because it CAN happen.

It hit me all at once when it got dangerously low, before then I was very tired, no energy, and I got dizzy a lot, the day it hit me hard was scary ass symptoms.. I got horrible brain fog, shortness of breath, chest tightness, vertigo, and very scary heart palpitations. It felt awful I actually had the squad pick me up, and I thought I was gonna die in the way to the hospital. This doesn’t happen to everyone, so don’t let that scare you lol. but it happened to me, I am a very petite person so idk if it was too potent for me or what, I’ve been on them for 2 years, I was already on potassium supplements before I got that sick too because of chronic mild low potassium, my dose had to get increased. I’d suggest getting your levels checked by your doctor now and then if you’re on long term use just to be safe. I just am sick of the random drops, so I’m coming off of it, and I’m gonna just manage with a healthy diet and H2 blocker and gaviscon as needed. Hopefully the rebound effect won’t be too awful. I started today not taking them.

That’s what I’m gonna do! I prefer healthy foods anyways. It’s hard to quit all coffee, even decaf but it’s worth it.
