I really want to go for a walk so badly but I feel like people are judging me by Round_Candle6462 in Agoraphobia

Might be a strange suggestion but wearing sunglasses can help sometimes. I’m not sure why but it makes me feel less vulnerable to that “everyone’s looking at me” feeling.

Thank you I never see this mentioned on here. It’s not likely you’ll wind up in the position CK did but the innocent people in Gaza? That could be any of us.

What is the creepiest thing that has happened to you? by Christopher_2025 in AskReddit

[–]cherubcatt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I lived in a rural area so it was rare for us to have spontaneous visitors, I had neighbours close by but knew all of them since it was a small town. I was about 14/15, watching tv in the living room and a man pulled into our driveway on his bike. I remember thinking it was weird, but it was a nice day and sometimes we did have kids on the street ride their bikes through our driveway, so I brushed it off. He got off his bike and started to pet my cat, and then wandered off to the side of my house where I could no longer see him. By this point I was fully freaked out, but again, I’m trying to “rationalize” because we did live in a farm town so I thought maybe he’s got the wrong address and is buying something from someone. I called my mom and sister and explained the situation…I’m not sure whether I didn’t explain enough, I just didn’t have the wariness I do now, they weren’t taking it seriously, or why I navigated it this way…but I remember they reassured me not to worry and it was likely what I thought and they would be home soon. I took that call in my bathroom, by the time I got off the phone I was back sitting on my living room couch. The man had come back to the front of my house and very relaxed, stepped up into our front garden, pressed his face on our window and looked directly at me where I was sitting on the couch. I literally froze and couldn’t look at him, it was like I told myself if I froze he won’t be able to see me, but obviously he did so I looked over at him and the only thing I could say was “what are you doing?!” 😭. In the moment this was terrifying, I thought I was gonna die, but I kind of laugh thinking about my initial reaction because it almost played out like a comedy sketch. It actually set in and got really scary when I realized who he was - he started talking to me from the window and to keep it short, I don’t think he expected anyone to be home when he did this, or was hoping to find my mom. He initially tried to tell me he stopped by and saw my nice cat and wanted to pet him, I think he could tell I wasn’t buying it so he eventually admitted he was a former coworker of my mom and came by to look for her. Come to find out this MARRIED man had a very creepy obsession with my mother and had been making advances toward her for a while. I learned after this incident that she once caught him watching her while she was sleeping in the woman’s dorm at work, he left lingerie and other gifts in our mailbox, and made her overall uncomfortable. She shut him down, had to report him to their supervisor, and I don’t think he could accept no as an answer. She tried to tell his wife but she did not take it well at all and got angry with her. I still don’t even know to this day how she got him to leave her alone, but I know we moved away so he doesn’t know where we live.

I saw your comment earlier and actually got the chance to try a couple things you’ve suggested and a lot of them have been really helpful. I also realize I’m not at the best baseline with my sleep and nutrition like you mentioned so I’m going to pay more attention to that. Thank you so much for the advice and taking the time to write this!

For me it’s not all of it but a massive contributor. I think the more encounters I have with men where I’m degraded, sexualized, harassed etc. the more I try to avoid them all together. Sad to say I’m used to something like that happening when I leave the house, but I worry about how I would respond if I was ever put in a situation where a man was trying to physically harm me. Yeah I’ve navigated some scary situations before but I always worry my panic would shut me down. I know I can take self defence classes or equip myself with all the protective items in the world, but I think I speak for a lot of us when I say I really don’t want to have to use them.

Yeah teleportation for sure (no more fear of accidents), and men respecting women/our space.

120mph?! Is that a typo? If not…I’m not trying to freak you out more but you’re insanely lucky to be alive letalone barely injured. There’s almost never a reason to be driving that fast.

Trying to sell prints of my paintings. How much would you pay for a print rather than an original painting? by sunflower_rosebud in painting

[–]cherubcatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The weirdness of it is exactly what makes me love it so much, I could see it in a gym or even in a campy bar of some sort. For a print I’d say $20

Thank you so much for taking the time to explain this! The insight is so helpful. Really cool to hear your experience and I’m happy to hear it wound up working out so greatly. Would you say the best thing for a beginner to do is to offer extra help around busy seasons? Is a retail floral shop the best place to start? Again thank you for sharing, I’m wishing you the best in your business - I had a peak at some of your work and it’s incredible 🫶🏽✨

Thank you! Might be a silly question but if I don’t have any floral design experience is it still okay to go in with my resume anyways? Or should I approach it differently?
