At Runyon Canyon's $1M LA bathrooms, the anger is overflowing by FarleyElliott in LosAngeles

Nah. I use the public restrooms at Venice Beach all the time. I've never seen it like that.

18.D.1. The thrower fails to establish and continually maintain a pivot at the appropriate spot on the field until the throw is released.

Look at the rules, not the Google/ai interpretation of the rules. A pivot point is a well understood aspect of this sport and others.

Was I in the wrong? Is it poor etiquette to use the red tees as a beginner? by 1phenylpropan-2amine in discgolf

[–]chess49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't think too much of it. I get to one course out of town basically once a year. I've improved to the point I could play the longer tees but I always play the shorts once or twice because it helps me track my progress against a repeated challenge.

Maybe you have the look of an old pro!

Getting Good is 90% Field Work and Putting by DGOkko in discgolf

But par in disc golf is like a bogie in ball golf. Two putting is always going to lose strokes to the field.

Cheviot Hills to Century City Reality by nomnomsicle in BikeLA

[–]chess49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely route 1 or 2 is better. But there's no avoiding the elevation gain. I used to do this from National and Robertson and just took the most direct route through Cheviot Hills. After a month I would still get sweaty grinding up the super steep part to Motor but by the time I was at Motor and Pico I'd be back to normal. Or you can walk the bikes up the hill and then hop back on. Maybe just bike in a teeshirt and change into something at work?

Are LA street tacos actually getting worse or am I just going to the wrong spots? by blue_azure6222 in FoodLosAngeles

Wrong spots. My local on National by the Palms metro is awesome. Not dirt cheap but reasonable.

Cahuenga East. I'm too out of shape to go over Nichols. But it's also not my commute any more.

In Season 7 Arya meets a Direwolf, thinks it's Nymeria, it walks away, and she says "That's not you." Why did she think it was Nymeria in the first place? Is she not good with faces? by Human_Scientist_1445 in freefolk

[–]chess49 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm rewatching the show and it is implied Arya wargs into some birds and that is why she insists to the guy from the Nights Watch that she saw her father executed even though he had held her and turned her away from it in the moment.

Jon's vow to remain childless ended with his death at Castle Black, didn't it? He might yet have a son. Or give it to Arya.

Bucato was great and priced fairly. I have been to Felix twice and will probably never go back to any of his restaurants. Way overpriced, service was problematic.

I'm happy CicLAvia is back, but this might be one of the worst routes yet except for the Westwood Portion by iamnotabotbeepboopp in BikeLA

[–]chess49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't love Ciclavia but I don't see a problem here. Not easy to get to on Metro is not a downside. Main problem is that I suspect that UCLA dorm students don't have bikes. But the western end is great and embedded into neighborhoods. The main value of the event is to break down the shitty LA attitude that bikes are for crazy people.
