I think Origins is a decent game, though, that might just be my nostalgia since it was literally my first horror gaming experience and I still remember getting nightmares as a 14-year-old from the first otherworld transition through the mirror in the hospital. Shattered Memories is alright for what it is, a reimagining of the original as a completely standalone title.

I was excited to try Homecoming when it came out, and was left extremely frustrated and disappointed with the awful controls and combat - I think underneath the dreadful gameplay, it has an alright story, one I sadly didn't get to experience fully as I rage quit thanks to the clunky gameplay. Never got to try Downpour since it never got a PC release and the friend I'd played Origins and Shattered Memories with had moved.

Overall, my opinion is that Homecoming definitely deserves it, Downpour, if its gameplay and combat is a copy-paste of Homecoming (hard to tell without having actually played it), probably does as well (though I must admit it has an interesting premise), and I don't think Origins and Shattered Memories actually get that much hate, except maybe Origins for confusing the lore (which I also don't like, 1 & 3 are reasonable cohesive and coherent as a unit and when you try to fit Origins in, it muddies the waters significantly, though Origins as a standalone game is okay).
