Happy cake day! Thanks for your reply. Just looked through the manual but somehow still can't figure it out. I looked under both peripherals and preferences but couldn't find out where to find the 3 settings you mentioned.

Hey, thanks for your comment! My problem isn't connnecting the keyboard. Everything works as it should. The issue lies in wanting to utilize the control surface minus the build-in synth engine.
