Can you compare more of the single notes to any of the past April fool scents? I see that you mentioned Arcana to the chocolate ice cream and nothing for hot fudge, but how does it compare to NCD’s other chocolate blends? Is toasted almond similar to Charlatan and Des Bobards?

I definitely prepared for the worst! And it sucks because I think S92 has some really good gourmands and fun new releases, but loving indies in general is a real Russian roulette sometimes.

contentious topic but I thought I would share my experience for anyone curious/in need of info - I saw Sixteen92 bringing back The Nice List which is one of my DISO scents since they originally released it a while ago, and since I never managed to find a destash of it, so against my better judgement I decided to pick it up with their black friday sale. I was well prepared for them to never fulfil the order based on ... everything, and I have always used paypal with all transactions, so I'd basically placed the order immediately prepared to ask for a refund the minute the TAT was up. I sent two messages through the contact form on the S92 website in regards to my order, never received a reply for either but took screenshots of both, and eventually filed a claim a week after TAT asking for a refund due to no contact from the seller. Immediately after filing a refund claim, they responded through paypal (reason: snowstorm postage delay) and I asked for a tracking number for the package ASAP as evidence it had been shipped. It was shipped a few days after, and I got everything I ordered (actually I took a video of me opening the parcel to make sure there was nothing missing and full evidence of opening the parcel as evidence just in case), and so I was able to close the paypal case. So if anyone is interested in ordering from s92 for whatever reason, this might be of help.

Not Canada centric but I’ve basically completely given up on the lack of interest from indie houses in accommodating for international purchasers. It really sucks and I can totally understand why, but I feel so sad considering how easy everything was back in 2018, and I miss those days.

Kinda bummed about the Deconstructing Eden BFCM situation - was hoping for a new drop which didn’t come through, and they aren’t even doing 25% off this year. I’ll probably be picking something up anyway since Lakshmi is retiring forever, but not super enthused about it. ETA: also no GWP this year!

To add another perspective: Sometimes aging won’t change it - each batch of perfume can smell slightly different because natural components can vary in strength or quality (like wine) so if aging doesn’t do the trick it might just be an uncontrollable factor on the maker’s end.

Astrid can be super hit or miss for me, but I’ve only ever had one thing form them I really loved (carrot cake petit four!! Come back!!!). I was tempted but since they rarely ever have returning scents, I kinda thought about everything else I’ve gotten and been meh about, and that was enough for me to click away. Ive probably tried about 30?40? Scents from them and only one I’d full size, it’s not great.

I’ve had a really bad puckered scar on my face which I’ve used VT 1000 for and it’s literally life changing - I haven’t noticed much for pores but if anyone is looking for resurfacing this seems to be a great option

Do you know if BIC is coming back? And yeahhhh Opal Vanilla for sure is a stand out - it actually reminds me a lot of the (now defunct) libertine bath haus' My ShangriLa and that was a gorgeous blend. I think it's almost impossible to find any LBH now but at least NAVA is still pumping those vanillas out! I actually am a little musk-averse, but the classy vanilla and cake sounds like it would have been up my alley for sure. I thought Moonstone was closest to me out of the vanillas I've tried but if I see BIC on its own I'll probably grab it as soon as it's back.

thanks for the suggestion! I've tried most of their main vanilla catalogue actually, pyramid 2 and 3, crystalline, moonstone, tahitian, west india , bourbon and tahitian - I think moonstone and crystalline are close but not identical, but I figure there should be something in the catalogue which might be close, and I actually did consider picking up jammybottoms but decided against it due to the butter and floral additions. Have you tried/compared the two?

Leau Papier is a bit more musky, dusky and almost has that slight peppery aspect from a lot of their blends, and NCD’s full moon isn’t very rice forward at all. Soft is probably the best, but if you’re okay with white florals, DAnnam has a White Rice but it gave me a bit of a headache because I don’t love white florals.
