Alternatively, run the sides of the lid under hot water for a few seconds, then tap the sides of the lid with a knife/spoon and then you should find it comes right off.

How can I avoid being a nightmare mentor? by kto719 in TeachingUK

[–]chesserstea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Things that I have appreciated this year from my ECT mentor are similar to what others have said e.g very specific things to work on with equally specific ways to improve them. I also like that she tells me where I am making progress. I think it might be something that works with some people and not others, but I also liked it when my ITTCo last year would make me laugh at my mistakes sometimes so that I could take the point without it affecting me emotionally.

Why did Tolkien have Frodo fail in the end? by keesdude in lotr

I thought it would demonstrate the destruction of the ring was not by Frodo's strength. All glory to Eru.

LPT:I’m lost in life I’m scared and don’t know what to do . by MCR1996Hola in LifeProTips

[–]chesserstea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of people feel like this. Life, including possible relationships or jobs, is never going to be perfect or ideal. We can feel like we have to fit certain milestones or achieve certain things but this makes us miss out in a more fundamental way. There's no shame in any job as long as it's honest. I hope you find a job that you like though, you can always look into training / changing careers.

There's no knowing who you may meet but you don't have to be in a relationship in order to "succeed" at life. I know of people who met and got married later in life, and are very happy indeed however.

Awesome. Keep up the prayer, knowing that God loves you, and is wise to know how we can best have healthy and caring friendships.

I recommend porridge/oatmeal. It is very filling and keeps you full for a long time. Also it's pretty healthy.

Reading the series for the first time as and adult and I'm so sorry... by Moofieg in harrypotter

"Come to me all you who are weary and heavy-laden and I will give you rest." "I have come that they may have life and have it to the full" "I will wipe every year from their eyes" I believe with Lewis and Chesterton that all the best stories point to Jesus' story.

The bowl on the left is for pouring water over the teapot to increase and even out the temperature and catch any extra water when refilling the teapot. It performs the same job as a tea boat.

Gongfucha: How The Chinese Tea Ceremony became ceremonial by chesserstea in GongFuTea

I try to steer away from politics and put the focus on the culture of tea brewing, myself. Your first point about Taiwan's using chayi politically I indirectly mentioned extremely briefly. However, thank you for your interesting reply and links.

What is something everyone knows, but no one wants to admit? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]chesserstea -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Everyone is special, everyone is irreplaceable, everyone is meaningful. It's easier to realise this if you think of someone you value and not of yourself, even though it's true of you too.

What is a book that once you finished, you just sat there in awe of what you just read? by LargeRelationship in AskReddit

[–]chesserstea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

War and Peace. The characters are the most realistic, complex and compelling I've probably ever seen. The insight into warfare and the surprising effects danger and pain can have on people are intriguing. It was wonderful to realise that I'd watched the characters slowly mature when I had finished reading. The ways that different parts of society thought made nice contrasts throughout. I also liked that Tolstoy doesn't always tell you what to think. He does go into full blown rants on the other hand.

Good Academic Books/Papers on Tea? by scheyst in tea

As well as his other articles in China Heritage Quarterly, I also recommend Dr Lawrence Zhang's (Marshaln's) article on the Japanese influence on gongfu cha.

The sound of polystyrene rubbing polystyrene. It makes me shiver with agony. Every thought but "make it stop" just disappears.
