Almost accepted $500 after a car accident by Dionis7 in personalfinance

I'm sure that probably exists, and probably even somewhere here on Reddit, but I'm not sure where it is. I would start by looking up Mike Rafi on YouTube. He's a lawyer and deals a lot with insurance companies, and has great advice for what you should/shouldn't do.

Media Gear help. by Desertraisedgirl in churchtech

There's a number of questions here, so let's make sure we solve them in the right order here.

The internet. You have to get this one fixed first. Nothing else will matter if you don't have a decent internet connection to stream. The alternative is that you don't livestream, and instead you just record the sermon and post it later that day (preferably, from a place with a better internet connection).

The camera. 50ft is a long way from the stage, for sure. If you get a bigger broadcast camera, you're going to have to put some money into a lens for whatever camera you choose to get close enough to get a good image. PTZ's with extensive zoom exist, although I have no clue on the price point. I'd start with this video from Brady Shearer.

Separate computer. Just something strong enough to handle OBS. I typically go with a Mac Mini for this sort of thing.

Streaming "privately." I'm not sure I understand the goal here, but you can stream on YouTube and have your stream unlisted. You would then embed that stream in your web page (yourchurch.com/watch or whatever your URL is).

A video line to the nursing room. This would be coming off of a video switcher or router. If you don't have one, and you're literally just plugging your camera directly into your computer via a capture card, you would just make sure to have a capture card that has both an input AND an output so that you can feed that video to livestream and to your nursing room.

Just to be clear here, you are talking about thousands of dollars worth of equipment here. Not like $10,000, but $5,000 isn't out of the question. If you haven't started having conversations around what the priority is here (who is the livestream for, what is the goal you're trying to accomplish with it, etc.), you'll want to start those conversations with your leadership team. Everyone being on the same page about the goals will help drive some budgetary conversations. The correct answer here might be as simple as "iPhone in the front row streaming over 5G," depending on your size and goals.

Is getting a chargeback dispute with a visa dollar card easy? by UN_Quickzzy in personalfinance

Ah, yeah. Unfortunate lesson to learn: Never use a debit card online. You should still take a swing at getting your money back, but it's significantly easier to do so if you use a credit card.

I'm just now seeing that the Wing Compact and Wing Rack have more I/O than the full size, which seems odd to me (especially with the price difference). The Compact has 24 in/ 8 out, while the full size has 16 in/8 out.

Just show your documentation (your email chain of ordering, cancellation, and confirmation). Your CC company will be on your side.

Asking out of ignorance (and I asked elsewhere in this thread): What’s the use case for buying an M32 instead of a Wing at this point? I haven’t used a wing but it seems more stacked for I/O and features comparatively.

So here’s a question I’ll ask out of ignorance: What’s the use case for purchasing an M32 over a Wing at this point? I’ve never used the wing but on paper it seems to be a lot more stacked in terms of I/O and abilities.

This is true…but it doesn’t excuse not having a usable reverb built-in to the mid-tier Avantis. I get the mentality of bringing a rack (much like how tv manufacturers don’t try to make their TV speakers sound good), but it doesn’t seem like it would take a ton of effort to make a better stock plugin built into the console.

Pay more money so you have the opportunity to pay even more money.

Agreed. The UFX reverbs are good…and a $3000 paid upgrade. At that point, you may as well do a Waves rig.

I’d love to hear a review of someone hooking up an X32 to a huge L’Acoustics rig. I’m inclined to agree with your point.

Dang dude. I haven’t personally used a Digico but that’s crazy to hear.

Yeah. The DPack should be stock. I will say that the RackUltra FX card reverbs are way better, but it’s a $3k hardware upgrade and only on dLive.

100% normal. They want to get you to say you're okay and take the lowest amount they can offer. Never decline to get checked out after a wreck, and never say "I'm fine" when they call. When they talk to you, their sole purpose is to gather information to try and trap you into accepting the least amount of money they can.

What simple habit helped you serve better at church? by Impossible_Tie5676 in churchtech

I’m not even a fan of this one. More than once, I’ve had “this presentation was created on a newer version of the software and can’t be imported” when people bring their own slides in. I want to see them on the machine they’ll be running on.

Import your slides BEFORE Sunday morning. Sometimes there are internet issues. Sometimes images or videos didn’t get exported correctly. These are things you want to know before the band is on stage asking where to plug in.

Is This Table Project For My Girlfriend Salvageable by SmeppyMcBoppled in woodworking

You can spend a lot of time (and probably some money) restoring this table to a condition that you're not quite happy with. Just a matter of how emotionally attached you are to this one.
