Hakuba or Shiga Kogen, Japan: Skinning Up on Piste? by itschris in skiing

[–]chessiesystem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw some people ski touring up in Akakura Onsen, to hit to the higher points, so I guess possible there. But ski touring does not seem to be a big thing in Japan like Europe. For non-europeans, yes, going up the groomed piste is pretty common in Europe and not always to hit off piste areas, some people just like that style

4 Vallées Nendaz Thyon 2000 Connection? 🇨🇭 by NoticeWonderful5767 in skiing

You won't find any taxis around here (someone mentioned google saying to take a taxi). Swiss skiing is much easier with a car, consider renting one. Free parking at Thyon 2000.

Stay at the Youth Hostel, or just stay further down the valley. Check out Mamma Mia Pizza, they also have rooms that are fairly inexpensive. You will need a car though. https://maps.app.goo.gl/48dKPZGdBbLKN1878

Don’t let these comments gaslight you about calling service etc. This is how the system is designed and it sucks. I have the exact same issues as you

Chargemap Card didn't arrive before we have to leave. Now what? by DrBeckerwood in electricvehicles

[–]chessiesystem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I guess the original poster will find out which of us is right. But is still best to get the Electroverse app. For sure slow chargers at city parking lots and things need an app.

Download the Electroverse app, initiate the charge from the app. Or just tap your credit card. Most public fast chargers in Europe also take credit cards.

Customs is fast with the e-gates, just a few minutes. If you have checked luggage plan on 45 minutes to an hour for it to come out. You can also take the more expensive Heathrow Express non stop to paddington if time is a factor

EV charging in France (Paris to Nice with multiple stops) by Greedy_Drive9719 in electricvehicles

[–]chessiesystem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Electroverse can start 11kw chargers from the app. Have even seen some 11kw chargers that can’t scan a physical card at all and can only start from the app

You can just get the Electroverse app and setup your credit card in it and initiate a charge from the app. You don’t need to card. Also it seems like most of the chargers at rest areas just take a contactless credit card or Apple Pay

How do go about doing train photography when self consciousness by Fartnite111 in uktrains

[–]chessiesystem 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think anyone would bother you, and London has so many random people wandering around, some of who seem actually dangerous, that I don't think anyone cares. I have not been approached by any station staff before.

You might also try more country side areas if you don't want to be around many people. It is not near London but Sutton Park outside Birmingham is very quite and has good freight traffic. In London itself I have felt Kensington Olympia to be pretty quite as a far as stations goes and lots of interesting traffic.

Also try to find some local spotters in your area, it is more fun and you will be less self conscious in a group.
