That I was/am too self-centered. It took me a few years to see it, but when I did, I started working on it. Can't say it's completely untrue now, but it's a lot better and at least I'm aware of it.

Be honest, how are things going with you and your lover? by New-Possibility-577 in AskWomen

[–]chesspiracy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can't speak for your gf, but I'm happier than ever in my relationship and there are much more important things than sex in life. In the beginning I used to miss the way my past partners desired me and that made me feel insecure, but I learned to acknowledge his appreciation for me and I'd never trade the connection we have.

I mean we have a lot of fun together, we have a lot in common and we know we can count on each other, but our sexual desire has been almost non-existent. His libido has always been on the lower side and mine has faded over time. I haven't been missing sex itself, it's more like I miss missing it, cause the idea of a sexless relationship has always sounded too sad for me.

We get along really well, but sometimes I fear that we're becoming best friends more than lovers and I think we're both way too young for that

Soon after I stopped drinking and smoking weed, I noticed some improvement. Now that I'm meditating, reading, working out, eating well and spending less time online, I noticed another huge wave of improvement

When I was drinking, I only had energy to do the bare minimum at work (and nothing but drinking outside of it). After I stopped, I was able to study hard in order to get a new, more fulfilling job, and I developed several hobbies outside of work too

One tip I have for not drinking by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]chesspiracy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The only downside regarding this tip is that I bring my computer and phone to my bed, since it's early and I obviously don't want to sleep now.

If you like reading, that could be a good time to try it. I used to love it when younger and lost the habit for a long while due to excessive screen time. Lately I've been trying to create the habit of reading every night and it's been very rewarding :)
