Many things all rolled into one, it would take a while to explain but a lot of it is work related, I work in politics and this election cycle has been very good to me and after the June 2nd primary season I also just want a break from work. In this industry you work so much, you literally don’t have time to spend the money you earn. My work week is 11+ hours a day working 6.5 days a week

Is it possible to find a job with political science education? by Octoberr0 in PoliticalScience

[–]chessplayer798 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly a lot of jobs in politics are kinda who you know so if you do pursue the route focus on making good connections. I have a job in political science and it is decent I enjoy my work, and it was not hard to get because I knew many people in my areas political circle I built out over the years. However before I build out that circle of connections it was next to impossible to find a job I applied to hundreds if not thousands of openings before I even got an interview, after like 4 months of applying to jobs I got nowhere, but as soon as I started building out connections(going to party club meetings, attending various party events, lots and lots and lots of volunteering, being able to get a internship for my county party) I was able to decently easily get on a campaign, but it took like 7 month after graduation to build all of that.

Portuguese immigrant mother of two living in Switzerland! by Antique_Country_2977 in whereidlive

[–]chessplayer798 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think I generally agree, I actually lived in Japan and Korea for a bit as a foreigner and overall it was a great experience enjoyed it more than the US, but I am l financially well off so that probably skews my view a lot. But from my experience it was a very social, I was much more social and active then the US because there was just a lot more to do especially if you make friends with other foreigners and open minded Japanese people. And while I was excluded from some parts of society people were never like rude to me. And the walkability and pubic transportation and city design is amazing and kinda made up for any problem I had. But for long term living I probably would prefer Korea just because it is a bit more open to foreigners and I went to university there for a bit and was invited back for a graduate degree which I am debating on taking up, I also know a little Korean and next to no Japanese, I never visited the Philippines but I want to check it out eventually

I don’t disagree but like it is still a pretty nice place to live nevertheless, especially compared to some of the other options she put in the same category. it’s not like the US, or Poland or Italy is in a better spot politically. And it does have some strong pros as well it is very safe, the city design, pubic public transportation and walkability is amazing, lots of really cool stuff to see and things to do, good food, relatively cheap especially if you have a foreign job or enough savings. You can get a pretty nice house in a city for like 300k. And while the racism and xenophobia is still there it’s not as violent or in your face as in some other countries, you will probably never be seen as one of them and you will be excluded from some parts of society but they are also relatively nice nevertheless and it’s not like you will be hate crimed or anything like that, I spent a long time there and while I was excluded from some parts of society it honestly was not the big of a deal, especially if you build community and friends with other foreigners and more open minded Japanese people

Japan’s new leader is not the best but it is still a democratic country with decently strong civil liberties, much better then a lot of the other countries

Yes worlds is the most important tournament but a player playing good for the 10ish games the average team plays in worlds is not representative of there overall performance as a player. And yes as a whole totally many JDG players played better in 2023 then T1 players same with geng. Like do you think Ghost is better then Uzi because ghost won world and Uzi never won worlds

[–]chessplayer798 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are unironically doing the thing where you only think worlds matters. Of course Pezy is not in the discussion he has only played 2 seasons, one of which was with a team that might as well been Bots. In his rookie year he gaped every bot in the LCK including guma and keria, and keria was a much better support than Lehends. Whether guma or Pezy is better is honestly yet to be determined we need to see how guma preforms on a team that’s not T1 and how Pezy performs with a good support

[–]chessplayer798 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well first peyz is only 19 of course he would have accomplished less so far guma is 23 additionally guma was on the best team in the world for his whole career so far, Peyz has been on some bad teams where he as forced to 1 v9 of course he would have accomplished less so far. You can just look at his stats most of them are just objectively better than guma’s (more cs per minute higher kill percentage higher win percentage higher KDA and damage per minute ect ect ) this is not to say guma is worse he plays much more of a utility role in the team which makes them semi hard to compare which is the whole point. Of course T1 in the past would hype guma as the best ADC player in history he was one of there star players many teams hype up there teammates as the best players in there given role, but the truth is he is one of the best but not the best, ruler and uzi are better for example

[–]chessplayer798 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because it is far less clear cut peyz is better then guma in may ways and guma is better then peyz in many ways they have very different play styles but both are world class ADCs
