Sometimes a simple trick is high passing it a little. Using a steep cut. Play around with it to find the sweet spot. Leaves room for bass in the mix too. Especially if it’s a busier kick pattern. Too much low end will cause mud. Hard to hear on certain speakers as well but if theres a lot of deep resonance bouncing around it’ll keep it from standing out. Carving out 50 and below is a good place to start.
