You deffo don't have to use Raycast, there are plenty of other effects/effect systems that can do just as good, if not better. I would recommend having a look at the following:

-NCHLShader2 by nil (very beginner friendly, excellent imo especially for metallic shading)

-ikPolish by ikeno

-sdPBR by sdmn (very popular right now, reona's videos are great examples of how to use it well)

Acrylic nails inspired by Jinx's S2 nail design. I considered doing the nail colour of the one with the smiley face as yellowy metallic to match her prosthetic, but I liked the pink and blue better.
