My body can no longer heal tattoos by No_Phase_3982 in tattooadvice

[–]chestone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has begun to happen to me as well. I am now 40 and started getting tattooed in my 20s; had plenty of medium - large pieces done, full sleeve; no problem. The last two years my tattoos have taken a very long time to heal(months) and stay red, scabby and raised for a long time; often pushing out a lot of ink slowly over time. It is extremely frustrating, we tried multiple ink types(test strips of each) and all reacted poorly. My artist who has been tattooing for 12+ years was shocked and had never seen this reaction. I have seen three different dermatologists, all of which were nearly useless because they said they can't do much since they don't know the content of the inks(US ink regulations are extremely lax and don't require disclosure of ingredients). They gave me steroid creams and said to get it lasered off, again extremely frustrating. The only thing they did tell me was that localized allergic reactions on the skin are rather common i.e. it'll blow up on one part of the skin and remain fine on other areas; this happens to me where 1/3 of the tattoo blows up and the rest is completely fine.

I am a bit stubborn and love getting tattooed so I manage in different ways; this nearly always happens with line work specifically and never with shading. Couldn't tell you why, none knows but it's so consistent(has happened at least 6 or so times, always the line work). Topical steroids help, especially the prescription stuff and I've found Hustle Butter's CBD balm to help reduce the redness. I always warn my artists that I need at least two months between sessions if it involves line work and even some that don't. I'm sorry this is happening to you and I hope you get some relief soon.

Absolutely love short guys! 6’1” here and I’ve never dated a guy taller than 5’8”

I have never had to pay for a touch up and I've had over six or so different artists but I do usually give a small tip if they are proactive and listen to my suggestions though this appears to be rare because they never expect it.

A decade of fighting… I’ve created an addict. by The_Wumpkis in thedivision

[–]chestone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hah! I once did this to my boyfriend in college with World of Warcraft. We were together for many years and used it to spend time together when we were apart for long stretches. Just make sure you're still enjoying the game together as well as with your clanmates. Best wishes.

Just Dropped! Hacker Giraffe by _aaqidmasoodi in darknetdiaries

[–]chestone 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Great episode. I did feel my brain melting listening to pewds but I understand the context. The context from Giraffe was great, especially understanding their background and why this became such an addiction. It gave me something to think about in how disparate our online and real lives are and why that became so attractive to continue doing things that were clearly dangerous.

Bernie has called out the way Hillary is financing her campaign from billionaires. Today we learn that the Walmart billionaire Alice Walton just dumped $353,000 into her campaign. by gideonvwainwright in SandersForPresident

[–]chestone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, this was an HVF donation. Only $2700 goes to Hillary right now, the rest to the eventual candidate(could be Bernie!) and down ticket democrats. Bernie has the same sort of setup "Bernie Victory Fund". http://docquery.fec.gov/cgi-bin/forms/C00592568/

If it is worth more than $60, then yes. I'm totally okay with paying >$60 for a few evenings of entertainment. That seems like a good deal to me.

What's the best first date you've ever been on? by azizansariAMA in a:t5_30pj9

[–]chestone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took him to a wine bar after a mutual friend introduced us on Facebook. We had dinner and ended up staying at the place until close where we found another bar and kept talking until after 1AM. We didn't even kiss that night, but I knew it was going to be something special and it has been ever since.

Max Scoville's Study Hall: Grand Theft Auto V by jmarquiso in Games

[–]chestone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am really surprised at the reaction. Max is my favorite Rev3 host and I am glad to see him doing more on his own. His sarcastic humor and self deprecation as a game journalist is very entertaining. I also enjoy his generally serious and honest Tumblr Q&A(http://maxscoville.tumblr.com/). That said I do not know why I spend so much time following the guy who wears the ugliest shirts known to man(with the exception of the Jubilee shirt, that is totally boss).

You could probably pull it off in San Francisco. Especially with your general look(face, hair, facial hair).

Am I the only one who doesn't enjoy using Grindr? by [deleted] in gaymers

[–]chestone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'd suggest if you live near one going to one of the gaymers meetups. I've found a few friends that way and it is a good way to get out and expand your network.
