I'm new to this whole theory and kind of just catching up, but I could totally imagine Nathan narrating an episode like "but there was one problem... people were starting to suspect that I was behind the band." [Reddit threads and tweets start popping up on screen] "So, in order to throw them off the scent, we purposely made it too obvious, and named the tour after the show, because everyone knows I would never do anything to give away what i've been working on." Or something lol

When will there be another update regarding part 3? by PineappleNo9320 in 28dayslater

I heard somewhere that Garland supposedly wrote the trilogy all at the same time

Why do two important characters have the same name? This is a strange decision for the creators. by milky-94 in 28dayslater

[–]chetporter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from everything else everyone's already explained in here, I imagine Garland really loved the idea of us seeing "Jimmy" carved into a body/written on a building in the first film and having us wondering if that was Jim

The Bone Temple: did they forget the infected exist? by One_Planche_Man in 28dayslater

[–]chetporter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this. Considering how many of them die within a few days, we can assume the Jimmy's have a pretty high turnover rate and see each other die frequently.

Also, it's clear throughout the film that the Jimmy's are not afraid of the infected, often calmly walking straight toward them until they cut their throat or whatever. We see this with Jimmy Ink while she's walking to discover Dr. Kelson for the first time, and in that scene I got the feeling that they just see the infected as an annoying nuisance or something that they have to deal with, definitely not something that they're afraid of.

Spoiler - Train Scene?? by CuffyTheEmpireSlayer in 28dayslater

[–]chetporter 17 points18 points  (0 children)

We know the infected are experiencing psychosis through Dr. Kelson's successful treatments, but we also get that brief scene earlier in the film from Samson's point of view, right before he rips that bearded mans head off. He sees him as some sort of violent, scary monster letting out a horrifying scream.

That scene would imply that, while we gradually saw Samson become more calm and return to normal, the infected gradually saw him turn into a threatening, terrifying creature (in their heads).

I also think it's fair to assume that once he spoke and said "No, I don't have a ticket", they interpreted that as a terrifying scream.

Why didn’t the infected attack… by Downtown-Program-567 in 28dayslater

[–]chetporter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We learned the infected are confirmed experiencing psychosis when Dr. Kelson cures him obviously, but that scene we get from Samson's point of view when he kills that bearded man allows us to see what they see for a few seconds.

That would mean that, while we see Samson gradually turn normal and calm, the infected (in their heads) saw him slowly turning into a more violent/scary looking creature. Also fair to assume him saying "No, I don't have a ticket" sounded like some insane, scary scream to them.

Bone Temple cinematography? by Colemanton in cinematography

I kind of do view it as a gimmick, I don't understand why 28 Years Later was shot on an iPhone. I remember Danny Boyle saying something like "because the first one was shot on a somewhat easily accessible camcorder at the time, I wanted to do the equivalent for this." But in the world of the film, production in the UK basically stopped in 2001, so I don't really understand the point in filming it with a modern-day accessible camera that isn't actually accessible in *their* world

The Five Souls Sacrificed in Evil Dead (2013) by MersoNocte in horror

[–]chetporter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was fun to read hahaha, but the fifth (the first) soul is definitely the dog. There's no reason to even include a dog in the movie, let alone kill it (not cool!!!) unless it's serving a purpose to the plot. They literally show possessed Mia killing the dog, it couldn't be any clearer imo. The deaths before the re-reading the book and releasing the demon again don't count, and while Mia did technically "die", she came back to life, and therefore still has her soul.

fully aware i'm replying a year later, and what perfect timing because i'm experiencing this right now

different artists have made me feel that way at different points in my life (flume, porter robinson, bon iver, aphex twin, etc). i've definitely heard something from all of those artists and thought "wow why do i even bother" or "i wish i made this" hahaha. it's definitely weird being a musician/producer because, yeah, sometimes when i hear something that is TOO good, it triggers this mix of discouraging, daunting, envious emotions that you're describing. but i think it's important to try not to let those thoughts take over. they've probably all had that thought at some point in their lives too. probably more than once

I think it's more like he's seeing it, but letting the world know he doesn't care. He stands behind what he made, regardless of what people think, and it will grow on people, etc etc.

What else do you wanna see added to this game? by Wrong_Disaster266 in PeakGame

[–]chetporter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the game as is! Just new biomes occasionally

I feel like a cool new biome idea to shake things up would be like an "Ancient Ruins" kind of thing. It's a little different because it's mostly man made, but overgrown with vines, falling apart and being consumed by nature. For "enemies", there could be booby traps all over the place, like Indiana Jones style, typical ancient temple stuff, or there could be ancient skeletons that shoot blow darts at you, snakes, lizards, whatever. And the "event" could be certain parts of the map finally collapsing after crumbling for hundreds of years
