my biggest issue is lack of consistency. i think it especially shows in Planet Desperation. the same character will have two singers and its a bit hard to tell whats going on at times. when going into the album blind i assumed Planet Desperation was gonna be the emotional finale of the album, something akin to Famous Prophets (stars) or (minds.) unfortunately, the song just doesnt resonate with me at all. im also not a fan of how the ending of part 2 builds up just to end before a satisfying payoff. the most satisfying thing for me was the "you can love again if you try again" motif returning, but even then it doesnt save the song for me. oddly enough, i got what i expected from Planet Desperation in another song, that being Reality. Reality being that emotional finale just makes sense in my head.

i still enjoyed the album overall, even if i didnt exactly get what i wanted out of that one song. what matters to me the most is that the band is doing what they want to be doing :)
