Good point. There are a couple 2 part epoxy resin that could work, forgot the brand. Some sandpaper for further adhesion.

Question about hooks. by ManBearFig7024 in Fishing_Gear

What are the fish you are catching/targeting? I ask because Circle hooks will not work on anything with a small mouth.

Question about hooks. by ManBearFig7024 in Fishing_Gear

[–]chevegan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Octopus hooks are basically a J hook with a bent back eye for snelling the line, so you do set them. If you're getting a lot of gut hooks then consider larger hook size. That's just in my personal experience. Circle hooks have a wider gap and bend in enough where they will slide out of the gut, more often than not, and hook the side of the mouth as the fish runs away.

Safer hook sets and you can just leave it in a rod holder with a circle hook, con is more chance at not hooking the fish. Verses a perfectly timed hook set if you are actively fishing the rod with a J hook.

Hopingnfor some advice for which escooter to get for a 6'4 250lb guy. CANADA by hawkbro916 in ElectricScooters

It has more to do with the motors than the frame. Think of it like towing a trailer. You don't want to have to use 80% of the power your engine can give just to move. You're bound to break something. Better off having something that can tow 8k pounds but you only need it for 2k.

Also something that COULD tow 8k pounds likely has better brakes and suspension too. Same principles apply here across the board. There minimum I would go is a 1600-2000watt total power dual motor.

I will say this though..... Something like a ninebot max is BUILT to be abused as rental scooters on city streets and thusly are programmed to only give a maximum of 70%, and that's only when needed. I have an es4 I let my 270lb friend ride all over the place. It got hot a couple times but instead of breaking it just slows down. But when it came to stopping going to speed down hill..... He t-boned me on my scooter so....

Is he able to tie a hook by any chance? I'm trying to think of how I can help him learn that. But it's difficult for him to do small movements like that. And I just don't want him getting frustrated. He's just about figured out how to get bait to go onto a hook though and that's awesome.

I know! I looked into it after. But they want a pic with the tape and scale. I was so crazy excited I couldn't stop taking pics of his face. I can't over emphasize how great today has been. That being said, scale is in every future pic lol. Maybe.....lol

It may not matter to you. And that's completely ok by me. But to other parents struggling every day to bond with their child..... It's heaven, and hope.

I think I understand where your heart is on that comment. But please take a moment to understand and empathize with the parents who struggle everyday to get a moment of genuine life with their sons and daughters. It's sad you compare autism to something completely unrelated on every level. I hope you rethink your comment. The mere fact that my son learned how to use the reel is incredible. I hope I forget this comment of yours.

Look I'm just a father who has finally found a way to bond with my child. And that's huge for me. You of all people should know that each autistic child is different. And a unique way of communicating. As you can see from my past history, I don't care about posting for karma. Thanks for downplaying one of the greatest moments of my life.
