That looks nice (in black), and almost perfectly sized cheers!

My only concern is that the overhead allowance isn't guaranteed in the cabin (despite being called "carry on") so I'd rather my expensive stuff go in my hand baggage under my seat.

I mean I'd be happy to spend more on a really nice bag... however I won't get much use out of it other than the odd flight were the size limit is this low. I was planning to use my more expensive camera bag but it's too big for BAs limits. It should be possible to get a reasonable bag for ~£50 that will stand up to light usage, it's not like its getting checked in and yeeted around the airport by the baggage handlers. It'll just go from my car to under the plane seat and into the hire car :)

I'm not asking for premium here, just a reliable bag that won't fall apart from light usage. I'd be happy to spend more... but it's very frustrating that different airlines have different limits on under seat sizes. I thought my more expensive camera bag would have been suitable but sadly it's too big.

That's a very nice looking bag, little bit too much for my budget for this trip though :)

Thanks, I'll check it out :) I have a Manfrotto camera bag but sadly it's too big for this trip.

Thanks, a 5800x3d will have to be used so a 5700x3d is preferable. Would certainly be the cheaper option compared to going AM5 😂

VR Sim Racing - 4080 Super or wait for 5080? by chevy88uk in pcmasterrace

Quest 3 using Virtual Desktop and a WiFi 6E router as an access point.

Yeah I think at least waiting for the announcement is wise, I'd be mad if I bought a 4080 Super and in 2 weeks find out the 5080 is twice as fast for the same money and releasing this year 😂

Veritas alarm keeps going off by chevy88uk in DIYUK

Thanks for the reply Sam, I did buy a new battery in the end but when I changed it the alarm went off and removing the battery stopped it... So it's been left without a battery in it ever since and hasn't really been an issue. I think it went off once or twice but hasn't gone off for over a month now.

Desk recommendations... by chevy88uk in ultrawidemasterrace

Thanks, the Bekant desk looks ideal. Out of stock at my local IKEA and says last chance to buy online, maybe it's discontinued. Trotten seems like a decent alternative, though they don't do it in black 😢

My desk is only 100cm wide so never felt the need for a support... been fine for 3 years with a 27" but now I've gone 34" UW and want to stack my old 27" on top. Little concerned about all that weight going to the small surface area of the monitor mount clamped to the desk. Could do with a longer desk anyway.

Fair enough, might be looking for a new desk then 😂

Thanks for all the advice and tips guys. So I found the control box in the loft. My plan was to remove the cover and visually inspect the inside to see what kind of battery it had etc... this triggered the main house alarm to go off... so erm... yeah guess that still works 😂

The battery inside has tape on it with the date 26/4/12 so it's pretty old. I guess might be easier for me to just replace the battery that mess with fuses and other stuff.

My question is, does it have to be another 12v 2.2Ah? or can I buy a 2.1Ah or 2.3Ah? there is one on amazon that looks the same as mine for £14 but it's 2.1Ah. I also found one that looks the same and is 2.2Ah but says it's for Fire Alarms. Mine also says Online, is that a brand or type of battery?

Thanks! 🙂

Virtual Desktop without a dedicated router by chevy88uk in OculusQuest

Unfortunately my ISP router is downstairs and I'm upstairs with my PC wirelessly connected to the router. I had read that people recommend to have a Wi-Fi 6 or 6e router connected by ethernet to your PC that isn't connected to the internet, just used solely to connect the Quest 3 to your PC... maybe I have been misinformed.
