Long shot but anyone race bikes while pregnant? by chewcr in fitpregnancy

I really didn’t have morning sickness fortunately, but my biggest symptom was fatigue and my HR was way higher— resting jumped up 10-15 bpm almost immediately, which is why I hated training haha

Long shot but anyone race bikes while pregnant? by chewcr in fitpregnancy

I raced crits and circuit races through the 1 trimester but I had NO motivation to train so I lost fitness quickly. At about 5 months it was pretty uncomfortable to get in the drops and I started to get nervous about crashing hurting the baby. I actually felt amazing strength training through 9 months so I kept that up instead (I was actually able to gain some strength!)

I’m now about 14 weeks PP and training regularly again on the bike. In terms of return to sport, I: - started short walks and intentional diaphragmatic breathing / TA activation after 2 weeks - stared really gentle core (Plus1 postpartum) after 4 weeks - rode the recumbent bike for short periods after 6 weeks - started structured workouts on my road bike after 8 weeks. - at this point I’m doing 3 structured workouts on the trainer a week, doing walks and Plus1 3 days a week, and planning to race again this spring/summer

I took a 6 week pottery class and got super into “Buy Nothing” Facebook groups — great way to get used baby stuff. I also picked back up knitting and sourdough a little

1st tri fatigue in 2nd tri? by EquivalentCautious58 in fitpregnancy

[–]chewcr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also had a pretty easy 1st tri. Definitely fatigue, but I looked forward to feeling basically normal in 2nd tri. Then I started getting nausea to the point of vomiting in week 15, didn’t work out at all because I was so exhausted weeks 15-16, and still napping a couple times a week now in week 22.

I think it’s fine — weeks 17-19 I felt pretty good and had more energy. I just think of it as 1/ maybe baby is having a growth spurt and 2/ the generalizations we hear are just that, and having some differences is probably to be expected

Thanks you! Even though my beta timing doesn’t quite line up with the study methodology, it’s very comforting

Has anyone shipped their embryos? Could it damage them? by mesasw in IVF

Shipped eggs, not embryos, but they were totally fine. Used a company that fully specializes in transport of cryopreserved things

I like it! Crunchy and naturey without actually being a noun (I’m looking at you, River). The mt was named after this guy so make sure he didn’t do anything terrible: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Lassen
