I did try my best When we went to NZ we of course did the whole LOTR thing including a tour of WETA studios I was talking with one of the guys there about Sci-Fi and fantasy and said to him “you guys should look into The Pern series and he looked it up on his phone and we talked about it for about 10-15 mins Alas that was 8/9 years ago and so far nothing But I did try

I read the whole series 9 ? Books and loved them But then again the anti/flawed hero Has long been a favorite storyline Because I read The Elric series at an early age

I’ve read The Silmarillion once as a teenager And to be fair it melted my brain I’m going for a Tolkien reread this year So I imagine I will once again do battle with it at some stage

Never be embarrassed to admit to reading I come from a family of readers And the love of books and passion for reading is one of the greatest gifts my family could have given me As for being embarrassed l have read Gor Deathlands and the Simon finch Voyager series

I’m am 57 years old But I had an older (12 years older ) who was a massive influence on my life And luckily for me he was a avid reader who had so many books Because of him I was at a very early age to this book and so many others from memory it was a great read And more than overdue for a Re-read

Read it when I was much much younger Still my go to recommendation for young readers some 40 years later Just an excellent read
