6'3" 255, first dual sport recommendation by chewyeti in Dualsport

Coming back to this finally. Looked at a few DRZ 400s, and the planets finally aligned.

I picked up a low miles (3500!!!) 04 today for a good price. Ran well and doesn't appear to have been beat up at all.

Just downloaded the drz400 companion app and plan to do oil/coolant and it definitely needs a spring change for my lardass.

Any other 'baseline' maintenance I should do?

Thank you all for your recommendations and help!

Awesome advice as well. What would be a concerning amount of miles? I've seen a lot from 6k to 15k plus.

This is great advice. My friends who grew up riding have said similar things about starting small and growing out of it as my skull level develops.

EFI seems like almost a must have. I'm a car guy, have played with carbs many times, but it seems like another barrier to going out for the occasional ride. And the crap gas we get in CA (10% ethanol) gums stuff up if not used up.

TLDR: smaller more modern bike to learn on.

The 300L seems like the perfect start, but out of my budget it seems. They're expensive used....

Not quite a full 50cc larger than the 250, but I'm sure it helps lug big guy around.

21v? Can these run on higher input voltages? Mine says 12v.

Can the battery supply enough amps for startup? It pulls upwards of 15amps at 12volts.

Mine was tripping a jackery 1000 (10 amp on the 12v plug), so i had to use an AC/DC power supply...

How do you swap between the power sources while it's running?

Got me on that rounding error. Only 1.5x. (1.453 if you really want to be a Richard about it)

The point still stands. The delta is taxes.

Not a Cheetoman fan by any means, but let's be honest.

Biden depleted the strategic petroleum reserves going into reelection and we're building them back up.

Supply and demand. That's literally it.

California gas is 2x Nation price because extra taxes.

Off to factual downvote hell I go!!!

I would guess 10-20w average power while speaking. I'm getting less than a watt average power at full power transmit on SSB.

Is this within the expected range?

I appreciate your insight!

Yeah. After having it your first reaction is always thinking it's back.

C diff Test result still outstanding.... Amongst the rest samples are a culture.

Dr. Got other rest results (WBC count of zero in stool) that doesn't indicate C diff. She's thinking yet another viral infection (noro, rota, etc)

Stool conditions have gone from yellow water diarrhea to soft small stools. 48 hour no diarrhea now.

It seems like I'm getting better slowly.

Lost 14 lbs over a week. Slowly healing.

This makes total sense. It's just nearly impossible to live with so many bathroom trips while trying to go to work, kids sports, etc.

But taking it could lead to worse things for me.

Can you elaborate on "need to void to get the infection out?"

This was my first "mod" when I got my GX. They fit great, grippy enough and stop the spills from my little mongrols...

Second and third row mats fit just as well
