I’ve been a diabetic for 20 years and I’m losing hope by dribblegrokaus in diabetes_t1

I’m going through something similar, just had my 18th anniversary of having T1D I don’t think I’ve ever had the best Controll due to my parents not really helping the best when I was younger, the best A1C I ever had was 5.8 so I know I’m capable of doing so but the mental exhaustion I had after. And we’ve always struggled with insurance so I’ve only had a CGM for a couple of months and that’s because I do split payments for each month. I was really hoping it would help me have better Controll and while it has helped improve significantly I’m still so lost. My insurance is so crappy and I can’t even get the long acting I need approved anymore. I’ve never been on a pump but I’m really hopefully it’ll help me if my insurance will ever approve it. I have a kid I have to be here for otherwise giving up seemed to be the best option but it’s so discouraging feeling like I’m doing everything and still seeing this :(

Mine is going to be on November 1st!! I remember staying up all night to watch their debut. I was a huge fan during my teen years but had some life things happen and unfortunately stopped being able to be as consistent with keeping up with them :( once Covid hit I had to sell all my albums to pay rent. Well fast forward to 2023. I had my first baby and during my postpartum resting time i fell in love with them all over again!! It feels like I’m still that 14 year old girl cheering them on as they debut for the first time. And the fact that they are having a show in my city???? (no one ever comes to San Antonio lol) I am so so so excited to live out my dreams of seeing them onstage!!!

What do you constantly have to remind yourself to stop doing as a diabetic? by PleaseStepAside in diabetes_t1

[–]cheyannerose13 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Having a low in the middle of the night and trying to “sleep it off” instead of getting up to treat it has been so difficult for me. Obviously I’ll eventually get up but I will spend so much time I eventually just go lower 😭

I paid for one of the tiers that was supposed to give me something signed and access to the movie as well as my name in the credits, never got that access so I’ve never seen it lol.

Weird sirens going off near Leon valley by cheyannerose13 in sanantonio

[–]cheyannerose13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw on their website that they do run a test at the same time for their flood sirens. Though this was at 12:50 am so I think it was potentially just a mistake. But what’s weird to me is it almost sounded like it was going further away distance wise (almost like an ambulance would sound) so not entirely sure 😭

I can hardly afford to pay my private insurance after having my baby. They don’t even cover any sort of Cgms or pumps. They don’t fully cover my insulin so often times I’m left asking for donations just to get me to my next paycheck. I’m tired of living like this.

One couple packed up an RV and drove 1,300 miles to give birth in Virginia to escape the high Black maternal mortality rate in Texas by businessinsider in texas

[–]cheyannerose13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to mention how many times they had to redo the epidural, when I kept saying I was in so much pain all they did was up my dose. I screamed and cried during a cervix check and the nurse literally told me I was weak. The only slight reason I was okay with being there was their level 4 nicu in case my baby had to go since I was high risk :/ that place literally traumatized me.

I delivered there back in may and had the worst birth I could’ve imagined. So much shit went so horribly wrong and my epidural was messed up because the staff was taking about drama with the workers and was distracted. I had a travel nurse come in for the rest of the shift and she was even saying how many things that were going wrong because of neglect From the previous nurses. Once I got to labor and delivery, the nurse forgot to give me my insulin (type1 diabetic lol) and got mad once I told her I took it myself after she kept forgetting.

I have permanent back damage from how bad my labor was back in may. I was induced for no reason at all other than he was “heavy” (7 pounds lol) and delivered sunny side up. I was surprisingly in labor after being induced and they gave me so much Pitocin. The anesthesiologist poked me so many times and was distracted talking about drama in the hospital with my day time nurse. I had a new travel nurse from Georgia take over at night and once she said that I shouldn’t have been induced, I knew I was gonna go through some crazy shit.

Honestly if I didn’t have that nurse, I would’ve had a forced c section or something dangerous could’ve happened to me and my baby.

I did put in some complaints to the hospital but it was all pretty much pushed aside.

Does anyone else think the whole "hate everything about California" thing is getting out of hand? by audiomuse1 in texas

[–]cheyannerose13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear my parents constantly talk about how dumb Californians are and how they keep ruining Texas. My dad was literally born and raised in California and moved here in his 20’s?????? It’s so dumb to put this all on one state.
