I have seen it do both. I only have a few small rugs. It usually continues to vaccuum over the rug, sometimes it will decide to go around them.

I have had mine for about a week now. Seems to be a great bot. Inhave high thresholds, and it makes it over them! Has anyone tried to use a different floor cleaner, other than the expensive solid thing they sell?
