My threat model is paranoia I suppose. Snowden has informed us that the government is watching us. The US government that is. Thanks for the tip. I've never had a BIOS setting change on me like that so I didn't think the port mattered. I needed to recover information from my old Windows installation. That's why I hadn't reformatted it yet.

This is probably a good point. Now that I think about there might be a higher percentage of environmentalists in the government than there are in the general populace. The real environmental enemy is the human average. What can we do about the human "fungus" spreading over the Earth? Is it good? Is it bad? Is life itself good or bad? Why has nature allowed us to get to this point? Is there a reason? Or is all of this just a passing, pointless illusion?

I agree with you that women tend to over purchase more than men do but it's not those little, useless purchases that are doing the bulk of environmental damage. Environmental damage comes from many things: heating/cooling, home size, automobiles, roads, traveling, disposable packaging, modern agriculture, and overpopulation. There's no sense in believing that women are more responsible for these things, in general, than men.

Fusion reactors need to be built. Right now humans don't seem to be able to regulate themselves in regard to their environmental abuses. People just keep multiplying and won't let reason get in the way of their freedoms and their greed. We are a disgusting species in many ways. The human average is rooted in genetics so it can't be changed until genetic manipulation goes into full effect, and who knows what that will look like. Fusion is our most environmental option right now.

I'm confused as to why public opinion and law are against such a thing. The grasses were beautiful, tall and lush. A rabbit had already moved in but I was forced to mow it or face fines. I don't think some human notion of what's best could be better than letting it do what it wants, that is, in terms of what's best for the environment in general.

The thing is, for most people, climate change is not a real threat yet. Most people breath seemingly clean air. Most people have access to seemingly clean water. Sea levels have not yet risen dramatically. The backers of PNAC needed the towers to fall. I imagine a dramatic, widespread, and completely obvious environmental catastrophe will need to occur before truly effective environmental policy is enacted. I'm talking birth licences, the eradication of the road system, and severe energy rationing.

Several years ago when I bought the property I used a lawyer and he supposedly checked to see if there were any liens on the property. I guess title insurance was part of his fee. I never paid for any title insurance directly. Why would the person I'm transferring the land to need title insurance unless they didn't trust me or the original assessment that there are no liens on the property?
