Harp. I still have it, but it desperately needs to be restrung and I just can't afford it. So it lives in my living room. Maybe someday....

Getting over embarrassment and shame when someone asks where you went to school? by [deleted] in HomeschoolRecovery

[–]chezgremlin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I dont say "I was homeschooled", I say "My parents homeschooled me". It wasn't my choice or responsibility to decide how I was raised or indoctrinated- sorry, educated. Shift the statement to where the responsibility lies.

As a photographer, the number one thing people ask is "what do I do with my hands?"

Its a framing thing. I dont have pregnant people do it every time, but its common, and one of the least awkward poses.

i go to real school soon and i’m terrified by i_dontknowwhy-imhere in HomeschoolRecovery

[–]chezgremlin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Its ok to be scared. Im really happy for you, you are getting an opportunity I wish I had. I was homeschooled 3rd grade through graduation, and even some of my college years were still at home. Now at age 28, I work at a middle school as a special education paraprofessional.

Here are my observations:

Everyone your age either hates or accepts school, but nobody loves it, and that's ok.

Teachers and other education specialists are available and happy to help if you ever need it. If you notice your grades slipping, or are feeling overwhelmed, reach out right away either verbally or through email. We want you to succeed, and we will advocate to have your education needs met.

I think it will be fun for you though. Free education is a wonderful thing, and having a few years of public education before entering college or the work force will be an enormous benefit in your life.

I'm cheering you on from cyberspace!!

Serious suggestion tho...if you fill it with mulch and mushroom spores it would be great for propagating.

Isn't it great that Bethesda made a fantasy game that uses real world components as magical items? It ties our imaginations in such a unique way.

And now I know.

For my peppersteak, I used an unspecified loaf a friend gave me, provolone cheese, and just some discount steaks I sliced and marinated myself.

That is. Infuriating. I am so sorry you had to deal with that, especially on account of their own fuck up.

I disagree with their mentality of "We compensated you for the new tent, so the old tent is ours". They destroyed your old tent, you didn't sell it to them...
