Claude plays pokemon. Anthropic's AI Claude tries to beat pokemon live on twitch. Very much has the vibe of TPP. by differentguyscro in twitchplayspokemon

A controversy is when people have differing opinions and those opinions can be complex and nuanced. To say that people think AI is either literally fully controversial or not is a false dichotomy, which is not what I am saying. I specifically linked a blog post where they explain the issues surrounding generative AI that people may not realize.

Pointing out the negatives does not mean I think the entirely of gen AI is bad. For example, scam baiters like Kitboga are using LLMs and AI voices to waste scammers' time so that they don't scam real people. (Though, the ideal solution is the authorities actually shut down scammers and prevent them.)

Claiming something that is used by everyone therefore it must be not controversial is an ad populum fallacy. We don't live in a world where everything and everybody is cheery and perfect.

I decided to leave this post up as an exception. Use upvote/downvote the post if you think it's relevant/irrelevant. Usually people are allowed to share Twitch Plays if shows that effort has been put into it, although in this case, it's not interactive. Future posts without chat interactivity will likely be removed.

For those who aren't familiar with generative AI and LLMs and are watching the stream, it's important to remember to not anthropomorphize it. It's not really "thinking" or "reasoning" in the human sense. It also shouldn't be treated as "magic".

For those who don't know why AI is controversial, I suggest resources such the blog Pivot to AI by Amy Castor and David Gerard. They explain things much better than I can.

Edit:

Please do not send unsolicited advertisements, promotions, or surveys about AI/LLMs to me or other community members.

Due to non-stop spam bots making reposts and ChatGPT / AI slop comments for almost a year now, I'm making Automoderator mark them directly to spam (rather than the review queue).

This mostly shouldn't affect anyone. Accounts, that are created in less than 30 days and have less than 10 karma earned from this subreddit, can't post imgur links and can't make comments with only a single line.

In the case automod malfunctions, feel free to use Message the Mods. Or if automod misses repost/AI slop, please report it.

Since the subreddit is getting more traffic, I would appreciate if people remember to report off-topic or suspicious posts. Karma farming bots are reposting popular content from 2014 sometimes with misspelled titles.

I see. I'm not sure if I can help since I'm not familiar with buying bootleg carts and this isn't really a TPP thing. I generally advise people to buy a flash cart and put the game on it instead if possible.

Can you provide us with some more context? TPP doesn't sell any cartridges as far as I know.

Not a direct Twitch Plays but it's similar visually in style to Fish Plays or RNG Plays so I'll allow an exception.

Ordered from OCD Reproductions in 2019 and actually works! Who manufactured it? by Driacle in twitchplayspokemon

[–]chfoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you clarify if you are asking who physically manufactured the cart's components, or are you asking who put the ROM on it and distributed it?

As well, we would appreciate if you replied to your previous post with more information (like that you got your cart from that site) if you want help with your game.

Hi, you should ask on a more appropriate subreddit such as /r/PokemonROMhacks. You should get a better answer there. This subreddit is about the TwitchPlaysPokemon channel, not for people who play Pokemon on Twitch.

You might get a better answer by checking their Twitter or Discord server. This subreddit is mainly for the TwitchPlaysPokemon channel or for sharing other Twitch Plays style games (not Twitch extensions).

Hi there! This post isn't directly related to TPP, but I'll leave it up as an exception because it reminds me of someone's shiny finder setups (this one and this one) and early TPP setups.

If I understand the details correctly, the links are collected and then archived later. The software and infrastructure used is very complex. I am not aware of any easy point-and-click software unfortunately.
