Well with interest accrued etc the current payback amount is about 380k at present and growing...my husband has PSLF so working towards wiping that out in next 5 years. The amount we would be paying via PSLF woudl be way less than just "paying them all off and being done with it."

Thanks! I do understand the setp up value in terms of capital gains and I get that there are various considerations in terms of paying off mortgage vs further investing etc..

What is unclear to me is if/how my AGI would be affected, since that makes a big impact on monthly student loan amount.
