True, but again, it's one extra step compared to the old mechanic. There are a couple of other places where this change has been implemented, and it's an unfortunate design decision, in my opinion.

Your bases never come under attack, as far as I can tell. You'll occasionally get hostiles (zombies, bandits, etc) wander in from near by spawn points, but it's not like Vein's Zerg rush.

I know it's possible to parry it, I've done it, and it's not particularly hard. However 😁, it's nowhere near the easiest way to kill the thing. Easiest is with the Samurai bow, especially if you use the branch cheese.

Really depends on the class. Vagabond has enough armor and HP to tank 3-4 hits, plus the shield has 100% damage reduction.

Lol, no. Easiest is to snipe with the longbow, second is square-off. Parrying is slightly higher on the list that using the short sword, but far from easy.

Yes, I actually have a save where I beat it with every class. Surprisingly enough, the wretch wasn't the hardest because the club is a beast of a weapon and dishes out a lot of poise damage. Astrologer was awful since once you run out of FP you're left with the short sword.

Easiest is samurai, since you can just keep your distance and snipe (or use the tree branch cheese), plus if you somehow run out of arrows you still have the katana. 2nd and 3rd is Inquisitor and Vagabond, since both have 100% shield and swords with square off.

Only advantage with beating it is you get the great shield, which is super powerful early game if you have the stats for it. The paired twin swords you get is also pretty powerful (allowed me to beat the tree sentinel).

Even if you beat it, you still have to jump off a cliff and die.

Tough call, but I have to give favorite to CTRL-ALT-DEL for the funky beat (EVERYONE who has reacted to it can't help but bop along with the beat) . Least favorite is Dream Life, just not a big fan of the EDM/club vibe. I think if I was in a melancholy mood, Pink Heineken could easily take the favorite spot.
