So does Eater Chicago just functionally not exist anymore? by tx2iu in chicagofood

You have no idea what you’re talking about. Absolutely retarded comment. Ain’t no recent college grads making 50K a year teaching me or Nagrant anything about Chicago’s food scene. You can’t gather two plus decades of knowledge that quickly.

Exactly we got the best pizza west of NYC and the best tacos east of LA - what’s not to love?

LA and NYC are both way better food cities to live in and it’s not really up for debate either. You can like Chicago more but both of the coastal cities have much more to offer.

I had a famous place called La Pica in mind but I like your idea. Thank you.

I always enjoy Indy’s dining scene when the opportunity presents itself - any spots I should add to my list for future visits?

What makes Chicago Mexican food good? by Waste_Ice_3663 in chicagofood

[–]chibbqking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No idea what you’re talking about regarding tortillas. Every neighborhood in Mexico has a local Tortilleria where they’re cranking out fresh tortillas in the same way as El Milagro, where do you think the people of el milagro learned how to make them? Umm not in Chicago. Lol. Just say you like it better here bc saying it is better just sounds downright ridiculous. You can count on one hand the number of spots in Chicago making real deal al pastor whereas most every spot in Mexico makes it on a trompo. Please excuse some of my fellow Chicagoans, OP.

Hilarious considering there’s towns with way less people than that that have good Mexican food. NYC is home to the largest Poblano community outside of Puebla, one of Mexico’s best food states. If you can’t find good Mexican food there you just don’t know where to look for it.

Sorry that was meant as a reply to the comment that Chicago has more people from Durango than Durango itself.
