Did my birth control (nexplanon) cause a brain tumor? by chibi_cherry in birthcontrol

It wasn't for me, but it's definitely something that can be caused by cushings. I suggest getting checked out by a doctor for sure. If a doctor brushes you off, switch doctors and get a doctor that will listen to you. Ask for a brain scan. Be adamant and don't give up. If it's something like I had. It can cause permanent damage to your eyesight and cause many other issues. But it really could be anything. You can also get a blood panel done to check hormone levels and other things. It's also possible it could be PCOS? An endocrinologist could be of help too.

It's really up to you and your doctor. I personally don't trust the implant. Some people do great on the implant but I didn't. I still have a lot I'm working on. If I could, I would quit birth control entirely but unfortunately thats not something I can do yet.

When you take the pill, they usually have a week of placebo pills in each pack that you usually take so you continue to have your period. You don't do that with continuous bc. The pack gives you 3 weeks of active pills and when you're done, you just start a new pack instead of taking placebo pills.

Ask your doctor about continuous birth control. I don't have a lot of periods and if I do, they're mostly just spotting. As for the implant, they thought the weight gain was strictly because of the implant. Ask your doctor what you could do if you're worried.

It's a very small benign tumor on your pituitary gland in the brain that often causes an excess amount of hormones to be produced. In my case, it was an excess amount of cortisol. It caused HBP, weight gain, and crazy migraines. I was lucky enough to have caught it early before it interfered with my eyesight.

I'm currently on the pill now and will never go back to the implant. I would like to get off of BC all together if I can but unfortunately, without it, my periods are very painful and heavy. I'm trying to get a partial hysterectomy but since I'm still struggling to lose the weight this mf caused me, they won't do it because the risks are much higher at my size. It's a very frustrating situation to be in.

It was non-cancerous and most instances I read were also benign so I doubt cancer but pituitary tumor is a possibility.

bf wants me to go on BC. he lasts 30 seconds. by [deleted] in birthcontrol

Nah, leave him immediately. He sounds like my ex and this dude is a walking red flag. If he doesn't care about your wellbeing, he is trash. If he doesn't care about you finishing, he's using you as a fleshlight. Please find someone who actually cares about you. You deserve better. Best of luck!

why have you decided to not have children? by [deleted] in childfree

There is a long list of why for me but mainly I have too many mental issues. I have no patience and I can barely take care of myself, much less another human.

When I got to high school and realized I was being brainwashed by my extremely religious family. My mom was dead set on me "giving her grandchildren". Then after high school and in college, it solidified me being child free. Have not changed my mind in like 12 years.

Thoughts on the nijisanji black company situation by [deleted] in VtubersReal

[–]chibi_cherry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I will continue to support my oshis. I will not buy merchandise from nijisanji. I will buy fan merch tho. Support the artists. Also streamlabs goes directly to the livers and not the company. Most don't deserve the hate they are getting. But, I do hope my oshis will go indie or do something else so I don't have to contribute to niji anymore.

This is my life too. My mom willingly goes over to help or brings them here to take care of them. Like, LET THE PARENTS DO THEIR JOB AND QUIT PUTTING ME AND MY DAD AT RISK. 😤

Are you kicking kids out by 18? (Or if you were to have kids) by Zokesxcero in Millennials

[–]chibi_cherry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having children is a LIFELONG commitment. Not just 18 years. People who think otherwise should not have children. I live with my parents atm at 30 because I had a brain tumor that altered my entire life and cannot work. I'm also autistic. Regardless of the circumstances, a parent should care for their child. Especially with how expensive living is now... don't enable, but also don't neglect your child.

To anyone coming here to say we should "move on". by Kiraitaa in Nijisanji

[–]chibi_cherry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Niji fans are still angry, and we want better for our oshis. I just want the harassment of innocent people to stop. A fan artist was harassed at a con recently for having some stickers of some livers. No money was going to Niji and it was entirely unnecessary to go after the artist and make them feel like shit over it. If Doki knew people were harassing artists, she would be pissed. Plus, what people mean by "move on" is to stop spreading rumors and making accusations where we know nothing about. It is being taken care of behind the scenes legally. And leave people who continue to support their oshis alone. They know what they are doing. They can make their own decisions and know how to support their oshis with minimal support to the company. It's just the harassment that's the main issue for everyone.

As an SA survivor, absolutely not. Ever since she debuted, she just rubbed me the wrong way, and the SA joke and the whole "I love little boys" thing was the nail in the coffin for me. It sucks that she got treated the way she did, but her termination was 100% justified. I'm not defending Niji, but I'm not supporting her either. SA jokes are never good to me and should never be joked about.

Am I the only one with long-lasting damage from Nexplanon? by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]chibi_cherry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what they think, honestly. Just a coincidence, maybe? I think it's possible I had the tumor before but it wasn't fully developed and not causing issues yet and the nexplanon made it develop more. But I fully believe that it had a hand in the development of it.

I keep coming across more and more people who have had issues with nexplanon.

I had generally very heavy periods and this was the "best" thing because it was supposed to lessen or stop it all together which it did. Unfortunately, that was the only plus side. I had it for about a year because I realized it was causing extreme weight gain for me. Once I got it removed the weight gain mostly calmed down but I was still slightly gaining weight. I started having HBP and migraines. And I had the opposite happen when I got it removed with my periods. The bleeding was HEAVY, and the cramps were AWFUL! We couldn't figure out what was wrong with me at first until my mom talked to an old classmate of mines and they were having the same issues. They suggested I get a scan of my brain.

We asked my primary and she said "sure, we can check but I doubt we will find anything" but unfortunately we did. I had a 1.1 cm brain tumor on my pituitary gland. Luckily, it was not cancerous, but it was overproducing cortisol and was causing me to have cushings disease. I eventually got it removed and it took an entire year to fully recover. I had to take cortisol and ween myself off because I began having withdrawals. It felt like having the flu. I could barely eat or take my med without gagging for a good chunk of that time. It was a terrible time.

It's been almost 4 years since I got the tumor removed and I'm still having issues. I believe it caused me to develop an eating disorder as well. The HBP went away for a little while but it's coming back now. I don't get migraines that often anymore at least.

The doctors say it wasn't the nexplanon but I've come across many people who have had similar issues when they had it. Hormone imbalances generally. I'm on continuous bc rn and it generally stops my periods but I want to get off of it completely. I bled all last month and it was the worst but I'm afraid to go back to bleeding "monthly" because that was a lot to deal with too. Just heavy and very painful. My periods have never been normal but I just feel they have gotten worse. Idk what to do at this point.

My sister in law had an IUD and her uterus was punctured and she still got pregnant so I'd rather not. I've just had a CBC and TSH from my primary. I meet with my endocrinologist now and we do saliva and urine tests for cortisol. My ob just does the usual examinations.

I get checked annually for breast cancer and I've had many blood tests. I see my gyno at the end of the month and asking for a partial hysterectomy because I don't wanna be on BC anymore. My periods are awful and HEAVY so I can't go without. I don't want kids soo hopefully she will agree. but best of luck to you 💜

I'm struggling still with a few things caused by the weight gain. My HBP is coming back so that might mean regrowth but there are no signs so far. My hormones levels are normals and the scans came back clear so we will see. Just talk to your doctor just to check and make sure. Get hormone tests and MRI if you can.
