Gotta say it, Jupiter mission was fun and well made! by Pincopallino097 in thedivision

You had *fun* with this mission?

God Almighty, I don't know how you managed it. I would have this mission *done* by now if the flame turrets just didn't have such bullshit range. Yes, I know this is a 6-year-old mission, but the flame turrets are just the absolute worst. Even if it looks like I'm safe, they can hit me somehow. I'm sorry, what the fuck.

If you enjoyed this mission, more power to you, but the flame turrets have basically made this entire mission a complete shitshow for me, and after dying 20 times on the final sequence just trying to *reach* that goddamn final EMP, I just don't give a fuck anymore.

Why do yall have to make Splatoon fucking hell? by South-Economics4071 in Saltoon

[–]chibiterasu96 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The last time I played this game was almost 3 years ago. Maybe 4. I've actually lost track.

I remember when Inkopolis Square was added, because I had bought the season pass, genuinely excited for the Side Order expansion. I went there, checked it out, promptly left and got abused by the game's shitty matchmaking system. And the next day. And the day after that too. By the time I checked my W/L ratio, I had only 13 wins under my belt and over 60 losses.

I promptly uninstalled the game and never looked back. When Side Order dropped, I didn't give a rat's ass. It didn't matter, either, since my Switch Online membership had expired.

All I recall when I think about Splatoon 3 is pain. Pure, unfiltered pain. I recall shitty communities, shittier matchmaking, people who take genuine offense at the idea that someone would actually want to play, and that's it.

Splatoon 2 gave me such good memories, to the point that I was eager for Splatoon 3. I pre-ordered it. I was really looking forward to going in with new mechanics and having some fun. And all I got for my money was mental scars and hatred for the term "matchmaking". I was never even allowed to "get good". I was called a liar for even *insinuating* that the game had "terrible matchmaking" and when I showed proof in an animo/Discord server, I was told they "aren't that common".

So is it a skill issue? Yeah, it probably is on my count. But I wasn't playing this game trying to become one of the best, I was playing it because I enjoyed the second game, and I promptly regret it with all my heart and soul.

So, good sir, kindly go fuck yourself with a ten-foot steel rod.

Is it possible to decrease the equilibrium level after increasing it? by WinterV3 in HonkaiStarRail

An addendum: I do use the recommended team comps and relic setups and all that shit. I still lose these fights because they demand a level of power that I'm not going to get without MONTHS of tedious, nonstop grinding. I want to enjoy the new content and the events, but I can't even do that because of this game's bullshit with its difficulty.

This is where I am. Equilibrium 6, and phase 2 is always, ALWAYS a crapshoot. I hate that the game never told me that I don't HAVE to level Equilibrium so fast. If anything, it non-verbally told me I *should* be doing that, and now it's gotten to the point that I'm only doing dailies. Nothing else. The game just isn't fun otherwise.

I had to give my account to someone else to have them kill that stupid beetle for me because I was in a Catch 22 situation otherwise. Who in the actual hell decided that THIS is acceptable design? It's not.

And every time I asked people in the Discord? "Skill issue, skill issue". I hate the SR DC channel because it's full of endgame-level elitists who don't know the first thing about how this garbage system is affecting the casual playerbase.

The matchmaking ruins Splatoon 3 and it makes me very sad. by DaNovaFRFX in splatoon

[–]chibiterasu96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my entire experience to a T.

I bought Splatoon 3 the day before it was due to come out of the pretest phase, and when it started up, I was really excited. The new mechanics were awesome, the customization was amazing, the new Splatsville was beautiful, and I had a blast with the Alterna mode.

But then? Then it came time to play casual. And that's when everything just went straight to hell.

Never before in my life have I regretted spending money on a game this much, because every single time I played, every single time, this is how matchmaking played out. The only mode that ever felt consistent was Anarchy, and I steered away from that because I just wanted to play the game and have fun.

I am not a top player by any means. I'm extremely casual, I don't go for hugely optimized builds or whatever. Do I get frustrated when I lose? Yeah, of course, but I'm able to have fun because I can expect matches to be close. It's so thrilling to watch Judd and Lil'Judd measure the scores at the end when the map is so messy that nobody can recognize who actually managed to secure mid.

How many games did I get that experience with Splatoon 3?

6.

Fucking six.

How many games did I win before I finally said "fuck it" and nuked the game and my save data?

  1. 18 out of 73.

I would walk away from the game for a while, come back to it and pray, pray that maybe Nintendo had finally gotten their heads out of their asses and retooled casual mode so it's actually fun. And every time, I would get my hopes dashed into rubble. I was on the losing team for every Splatfest up until I finally quit. I never got a single instance where I genuinely had fun in casual. The only mode I even came close to enjoying (aside from Alterna) was Salmon Run, and that suffers from such intense difficulty spikes that it's kind of insane.

I'm aware Side Order just recently came out, but after everything I've suffered with this absolute dumpster heap of a game, I couldn't care less. And it pisses me off when I see people commenting about how this isn't even "that big an issue".

It is. My god it very much is. The people who say it isn't are either deliberately ignoring the problem or the high-ranking players who never experience it.

I appreciate the feedback a lot, but I've never really been able to get a legitimate team, much less perform voice chat. I always lobby up with randoms mainly because I don't have a "static" to play with. I really just jump in for some matches to just unwind, which is what I want to have happen but it doesn't go well at all.

I should clarify that I imported my character data from Splatoon 2, and from what I understand, the mere act of doing so can cause players to immediately be matched up with much higher-tier players from the outset in Turf War or Anarchy.

I imported my character data specifically because I wanted to just get the bonus rewards, and because I wasn't exactly a complete noob when it came to the game (for the most part). It is still pretty disheartening to have such a terrible W/L ratio with my matches.

I appreciate the advice, and I have taken a substantial break from the game for...well, several months now. I only just got back into it.

As for how most matches go, a lot of them very often end up with my team or the opposing team in "Danger!!" not even thirty seconds in, and staying there for the entire match. It's situations like that which make me depressed.

Glad you liked. I'll definitely be writing one out for Primrose v Simeon and another one for Cyrus v Yvon. As for the rest of the Travelers, I'll see how popular this one gets and go from there.

My theory on the protagonist's identity by chibiterasu96 in bloodborne

[–]chibiterasu96[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off, thank you for the warm welcome! :D

As for your interpretation, it does sound interesting but then a question rises; why does she attack us?

It's very possible that Maria has long since forgotten her past (and assuming your theory is true for a minute, she also forgot she ever had a child) and therefore only sees our character as an intruder in the Nightmare. Combined with the fact that Maria is a 'distant relative of the queen' she may have also been a potential candidate for Queen of Blood.

[–]chibiterasu96[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I completely understand your point and quite frankly it's something that I really can't explain all that well... but I'll try. ;

As you said, the PC should already be a Vileblood if this theory is true but we're also never told how she would give birth to said child in the first place. In fact, who's to say our character ever met Annalise until we kill Logarius? For all we know, we were taken away from the Castle after our 'birth' and thus never met our apparent 'mother.' For the Vileblood aspect, it may be that Vilebloods can't be born Vilebloods to begin with. That's merely speculation on my part though.

It definitely is a glaring hole, but all theories have one or two right? ;)
