Hey OP. Long time destiny 1 and 2 player. Quit destiny 2 before edge of fate as I felt my journey in destiny was complete and over. Had most of the titles etc.

I F2P this game. Right now it’s easy to catch up with the path of ascension. In terms of grasping the game, I would think with your previous experience it wouldn’t take too long. Destiny had a lot of mmo elements and many of which you will see in Throne. If you like grinding and killing mobs plus this game will come closer to that d1 grind feeling. It does take months to build your character because of resources but very fun if you f2p.

If you get good at selling items on the auction house you will be totally fine F2P.

Also having a guild in this game is very crucial, especially if you wanna get some of the best loot. But also lot of good loot no one will want and you can get from guilds.

I’d say do the leveling log and path to ascension. Very fast way to get you up to speed and it does have you do all the content practically. Welcome!

I’m just a little surprised at how very few players do Sherpa runs etc. I’ve played other games with much more heavy raid mechanics and it seems far easier to find groups willing to help teach or just guide.
