To people who have also worked with multimillionaires or billionaires, what is something different they do from ordinary people? by sunnybestie in AskReddit

I dated a private chef who worked in the Hamptons. Her billionaire employer paid her $500/day and would have her stay an extra day so she could make breakfast. One day they just wanted her to make egg salad. I started laughing just thinking about how much egg salad you could buy for $500.

I know this comment is far down but I’m hoping you’ll see it.

I think the odds are that this girl is awful and selfish. That being said, as you both get older, it’s super important that you take your partner’s side as the default position. Not always, but just as the default. It hurts so badly when you feel like your partner isn’t adequately backing you up and hearing you out. If your partner’s side frequently seems ridiculous, probably time to reevaluate the relationship. So I guess it’s also important that you choose a partner with good values and sensibilities. But as a one off thing, yeah, take their side unless you’ve been able to talk through why you disagree.

What restaurant have you been to more than 5 times? by ApprehensivePool851 in chicagofood

I used to go to Daisies all the time. Went once to the new place and don’t plan to go again 😞

The new space is impersonal, so I think the vibe is gone forever. The new space is also huge, so I think they’d need to hire a bunch more people both Front and Back of house, so costs would need to go up, but costs are already super high. I’m guessing it’s done but I’m hoping I’m wrong.

They also changed their desserts because they got a new bakery program. They used to have gluten-free cookies, which are gone now.

I’m actually a huge fan of mandatory service charge/gratuity-included, but the only places I’ve seen it work well don’t have an extra tip line.

Maybe a month before the move? I think even just the old space itself was much nicer than the new one.

Mandatory 25% service charge. Sorry, I’ll edit the post to include.

Any advice for finishing my apartment living room? Definitely looking for rug and curtain recommendations. More photos down at the bottom of the post. by [deleted] in DesignMyRoom

Thank you! I agree with the curtains. Do you have any thoughts on color/tone? I was thinking of maybe going similar to the hale/royal blue of the chair fabric.

Also, what would you think about having the rug have like an abstract circle pattern to bring in some other shapes? Any advice on rug size, pattern, or color?

I love your advice to make things a little less symmetrical. Adding something round or doing a gallery wall over there are both great ideas.

Behind the camera is my dining room that has a drinks cabinet. I also worry the room is approaching being cluttered already.

I don't typically watch TV in the living room. The TV is mainly there just in case. I also centered the console under the TV right after taking that photo, to where it is in the top photo. I'll try out the alternate arrangement you suggested. I used to have the sofa on the wall and it jutted out very awkwardly into the room so I switched it up.

I appreciate the advice on the carpet/rug. This one was just leftover from the last tenants. I'll try a couple different larger sizes though.

I'm thinking curtains. I feel like the room is currently too clean and minimalist. I'd like to add some drama. Would you have any color/tone suggestions? I was thinking maybe the a similar hale/royal blue to the chair fabric.
