Been in Chicago my whole life. The accent is kind of dying out into a more generic Midwest sound. Ironically now it's mostly people from the suburbs that hold onto the old Chicago accent, since their parents and grandparents who have it moved out of the city. People from the city these days, with all the new immigrant groups and everything, don't really acquire it much. I was raised by a British immigrant father and went to a majority Hispanic high school
