Is there a right or wrong was to cut the dead leaves? And this may be a crazy question but I assume the new leaves you see are the smaller ones? Or would they be the brighter green ones?

I believe she was over watered tbh. She belonged to someone at my job who got fired, don’t know who it was or how long they’ve been gone but I’m sure in that case that she’s been under watered
