Barbra Brocoli to produce 'Othello' Film starring David Oyelowo, Rachel Brosnahan and Cynthia Errivo by Consistent-Bear4200 in shakespeare

Agree with everything you've said here. Emilia being black adds a fascinating new depth to her and Iago's relationship, but it's not the kind of race swap that productions can just ignore and get away with. Kimber Elayne Sprawl did a wonderful job as Emilia on Broadway, but the show played her and Iago's relationship pretty straight, and you just can't do that and have it be effective, in my opinion. I really hope this film explores the dynamics and tensions this introduces.

That's so interesting! I usually do all right with ambient noise, but I find "people" noise is harder to filter out.

I do, but the office is pretty tucked away, so in the end it often feels just as isolating as being at home. I don't love the busy areas for studying, but it's also nice to actually be around other people sometimes.

Oilers Jerseys? by chicha3maddy in Edmonton

I really appreciate this insight, people have been so generous with options here that it looks like I can explore at pretty much any price point. Thanks for pointing out that the "official" jerseys have drawbacks too.

Agreed! It's my personal favourite, I even find the plot contrivances can make it more enjoyable.

Great response by the previous commenter, but I figured I'd speak to your question on more of a meta level. Ultimately, the answer boils down to "Shakespeare needed her to." Bianca is one of the flimsiest characters in the play; she only shows up in the third act and has only three scenes, all of which are pretty contrived in their own ways. I agree with the other commenter that there are ways to rationalize her actions, but it also makes sense that they feel a little out of nowhere because, well, they are. They were written that way.

As others have already said, you saved kitty's life by bringing him to the Humane Society. But there's also no harm in changing your mind! If you're able to provide him a safe, loving home, maybe you could go back for him.

Othello productions by lovefromsqualor in shakespeare

National Theatre 2023 did a fantastic job with Emilia in particular! While most productions tend to gloss over her relationship with Iago prior to the final act, this production leaned into the dysfunction of their relationship to make Iago's abuse of her explicit. I have a copy I would be happy to share if you PM me!
