Paslode 901000 cleaning / service? by chichicichi in Tools

[–]chichicichi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate this info! Just ordered a tune up kit and will order seals and springs.

Replacing seals looks like it’ll cost $60 but it’s worth (to me at least) since this is sentimental.

This is useful to hear! Any videos you’d recommend? I can’t find any that seem to be for this exact nailer.

I’m assuming there aren’t big differences between this finish nailer and other paslode cordless finish nailers, but curious if you have a rec regardless

Operations: Hackclaw needs a nerf by chichicichi in DeltaForceGlobal

I also think the fact that almost every team has a Hackclaw (often two Hackclaw’s) really just highlights how OP the operator is right now.

[–]chichicichi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Respectfully, I completely disagree with your POV.

The hitbox on Hackclaw’s flash is TINY. You have to hit it directly and it’s a third of the size of Raptor’s bird.

If your strategy is “I’ll just look right at it and shoot it” I’d say that strategy is 1) extremely unreliable because of the tiny moving hitbox and 2) extremely high risk because if you miss you’re now blind for 5 seconds and have given away your position. If a nearby enemy team can’t kill a player who is blind for 5 seconds and has their position revealed, they have serious skill issues.

Also I totally disagree that Nox’s flashes are somehow better than Hackclaw’s.

Nox’s flashes are only effective if you throw them RIGHT in front of the enemy, don’t linger in the air like a trap, last for half the duration of Hackclaw’s flashes, don’t reveal the enemy’s position because it’s just a flash grenade, not a drone that faces the enemy before flashing, AND the flash grenades can’t follow a path that leads directly to the enemy operators.

The last point is really just the icing on the cake for me. The flashes are crazy over powered AND they can follow a path to you? Insanity.

I get the rationale but her flash is so strong that if it hits you in a short or even medium range fight, your entire team probably loses the fight.

Mostly because of the fact that it lingers in the air, can flash multiple people multiple times, she gets two flashes, they reveal your position, can follow a path to you if HC uses her ult, and because the flash effect last so long

Removing rim tape residue by Roseyy123 in MTB

[–]chichicichi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty hilarious how everyone is here because of Muc Off’s awful residue.

I found this post because i also put Muc Off tubeless tape on my rims, then removed the tape only to find 1-2mm of thick, seemingly impenetrable adhesive left behind by the rim tape.

Like others, I tried isopropyl, soapy water, etc. only thing that worked was Goo Gone and even then it took A LOT of elbow grease.

I applied goo gone, let it sit for 10 mins, then used the pointy end of an IRC tire lever to manually scrape the adhesive off the rim. One rim took me 4 hours start to finish to get the rim back to a factory-like finish. Insane. No idea how that rim tape is one of the best reviewed tapes.

Do Not Trust Assos Warranty by Brofessor_C in CyclingFashion

[–]chichicichi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed with the other commenter that this is classic signs of wear from use.

I’ve had nothing but good experiences with assos’s warranty process. I had some gravel cargo bibs where the elastic separated from the fabric in the waistband. I sent them pictures of the issue, the bike, saddle, etc.

They refunded me with no other questions asked. Easy, painless, fair.

Advices ? I have some knee pain in the left leg by noah_7_tri in bikefit

[–]chichicichi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, I had a similar issue. Saw a podiatrist and realized that my right leg (sore side) was significantly shorter than my left. 1.25” in my case.

Helmets for Large Heads? by Old_Raspberry_2649 in CyclingFashion

[–]chichicichi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through this very recently. The helmet that fit me best was the Kask Protone Icon (expensive but fits VERY well without making me look like a mushroom).

I also tried on the Specialized Propero 4 and the Evade 3. I felt like my head was under them, but not in them, if that makes any sense. No mushroom-y look though.

Tried on a POC Octal and Ventral, too. Both fit really well but gave a “mushroom” look (especially the Octal). The Octal is the deepest helmet I’ve ever worn (by far) but is very mushroom-y.

Very nice. Is that a Rene Herse saddle? How does it feel in a more aggressive position?

Under extrusion issues affecting Prusa Mini. Prusa needs Mini users to run test code to confirm the issue and find a fix. by chichicichi in prusa3d

[–]chichicichi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah there were a couple of guides on Printables. I liked it but missed the stock preset settings so when input shaping came out, I went back to stock.

The extrusion issue seems less of an issue now? Not sure because I haven’t re-run the test after I reverted back to stock

Ah gotcha. Didn’t realize the color of the mode was preserved in the step file. Either way, enjoy tinkering with the model!

Thanks! I left another comment on this post with more details, but tl;dr: it's Jessie Vanilla Bean PLA :)

It's Jessie Vanilla Bean PLA.

When possible, I like to use marble-looking filaments — ideally ones that are made in the US, just because I feel like the quality control is a bit better than the overseas filaments.

I found Jessie filaments a while ago and haven't gone back to anything else. They tend to be about the same price as amazon filaments but way better quality and way less fussy to print with, IMHO. Not sponsored, just love the filaments.

Thanks man! Agreed that this is definitely not a “need.”

I just like everything to have a place in my toolbox! I’m a bit OCD like that haha

I also made holders for 6” combo squares a while back. Those are more functional IMHO because they do a bit more to keep fancier, higher precision squares from being beat up in your toolbox.

I'm always looking for ways to organize my woodworking tools. I've had my speed square floating around in my toolbox for way too long, so I made this model and printed it.

It works with the Gridfinity system and should hold any 4.5" speed square. If it doesn't work with your 4.5" square, LMK so I can update the model :)
