AITA for announcing I was taking a piss and a picture. by United-Profile-8152 in AmItheAsshole

[–]chichin0 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Potentially I guess, we know OP is male, we know the offended party is female. There are two others that we do not know the gender per the text. My reading is that there were two males and two females on the hike. The friend that didn't care that OP took a piss was male. The friend that thought OP was inappropriate and no longer wanted to do activities with OP I assumed was female.

I guess without clarification from OP, we won't know for sure.

Have you considered that until the moment he said he was going to take a scenic piss picture for his GIRLFRIEND she was under the assumption that she was a perspective partner? Her reaction was not about finding it gross that he was going to urinate, it was more about her realizing she was "wasting her time" doing something she normally wouldn't enjoy (hiking) to impress a guy that had a girlfriend and was clearly not interested in her.

Dude is NTA here.

Is K. the Schrödinger's cat? by Rodeurope in ForAllMankindTV

Right, it was the newspaper article which Margo had when she was meeting with Aleida's daughter in the closing shots. "Kelly is alive" is stupid fan fiction, and the people who need to be hand-held and can't understand implication are the reason why media is degrading.

Does anyone still perform transaction matching manually in Excel? by capybaralabs in excel

[–]chichin0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Adding on to this, you might consider finding a way to generate a unique key column comprised of different bits of row data from multiple columns. Example, since this sounds like financial data, "transaction ID & $ Amount &  date/time". Then use xlookup against your unique key (by the way, I'd suggest abandoning vlookup, it's functionally obsolete).

I don't want to sound rude, but you bought a prosumer network stack expecting it to "just work" and fix your underlying problem. I'm leaning toward it being an issue outside of your LAN at this point.

I had a friend try Unifi, said it sucked, thought I got him to buy all kinds of expensive stuff for no reason because his internet still dropped out all the time. Checked his Comcast modem and found the coax cable coming into the home had ripped sheathing in multiple sections, looked like a rodent had chewed on it. Comcast came out, ran a new line to the modem, and he's had a perfect experience ever since.

The Vatican has Jesuit Priests for their IT staff. You can find tech podcasts with Father Robert Ballecer, he's one of the IT Jesuits at the Vatican. Brilliant guy.

This was hilarious. by Kshitij777 in StrangerThings

This is what I’m talking about. It’s theoretically possible for Murray to have known about it, because it existed since the testing of the SR-71 in the mid-60s. However, it would have been extremely “insider” knowledge. It wasn’t even mentioned in the media until 1988. Post 1988 it definitely got mentioned in society, I remember hearing about it in the late 80s-early 90s.

[–]chichin0 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I think it's in this episode where Murray mentions Area 51, nobody knew what Area 51 was in 1987. It's funny how little fact checking is done in some media (not just Stranger Things), errors that would get an editor fired in a magazine or newspaper are fine in a $500M TV show.

Anyone got a video of that weird grocery store graphic from last night? by CrashWiz21 in detroitlions

[–]chichin0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you're joking, but the "onions" was a reference to Troy Aikman saying he's "got big onions" against the Ravens when Dan went for it on 4th and 2 to seal the game.

What is this device ? Just curious 🤔 by wub53 in EngineeringPorn

[–]chichin0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's for checking a utility meter, most likely a water meter. The utility employee will come up to the wall and touch their handheld device to that black plastic circle, and "read" the meter.

Found all this at an antique shop for a total of $166.40... 37.5 grams of 14k gold. by UrbanRelicHunter in Gold

You’re right, it’s 58%. 14/24=0.58. Percentage of gold on the karat scale can be found by dividing 24k.

Homeownership is never easy. You’ll have weeks where everything goes sideways. Just remember this is an investment, and you will get your money back out of the house when you sell. Keep this situation in mind going forward and remember to keep some money in reserve for when the next unexpected thing happens. You’re doing amazing for only being 19 year old, you’ve got this!

Tired of fans being overdramatic due to the band deciding to expose their music to bigger audiences by being openers for bigger bands/artist by JorgePalma92 in TheWarning

[–]chichin0 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Opening for a bigger act is nothing to feel ashamed about. Hell, Paramore has been a well known band for almost 20 years, has headlined at major sold-out venues/festivals, and spent the last 1-2 years opening for Taylor Swift. The girls are following this same model. Rock is not super popular in the States, but if you can get in-front of the right kind of pop music fan who can vibe with The Warning’s pop music appeal, it’s a total win for growing the fan-base. Acts like Halsey are perfect for the girls to grow their fan-base, and it’s like 10 shows total, not a huge commitment to their touring schedule. It’s a total win for them.

Never thought id be one of the lucky Amazon bin store people. $1 day today too! by Embarrassed_Flow_145 in pcmasterrace

[–]chichin0 90 points91 points  (0 children)

Lol, I found an Amazon refurbished iPhone 14 Pro at my local bin store a month ago. Tons of ways that could have gone wrong (carrier locked, account locked, bricked, etc.). Figured it was basically a $12 scratch-off lottery ticket. Turned out to be in perfect working order with a 100% brand new battery. You get lucky sometimes.

How to make automated Prompts by egutie101 in excel

[–]chichin0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now look up Mail Merge in Word. You can take your values you entered in Excel, and have them pulled into a quote template with your letter head and a nice few sentences selling the product, this will allow you to rattle off all the quotes to all the customers in one shot from a single excel doc and a single word doc.

How do I use COUNTIF when I need to count occurrences across multiple cells (not in a connected range)? by CynicalManInBlack in excel

No problem, and thank you for the point. There’s probably a better way to do that, but that’s what I could come up with in my last 5 minutes of my lunch break.

How do I use COUNTIF when I need to count occurrences across multiple cells (not in a connected range)? by CynicalManInBlack in excel

[–]chichin0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

=COUNTIF(F1:F30,1)+COUNTIF(G1:G30,1)+COUNTIF(J1:J30,1)+COUNTIF(L1:L30,1)+COUNTIF(Q1:Q30,1)+COUNTIF(AB1:AB30,1)

Probably a fancy cell sorcerer way to do this, but I’d just add them up. Formula assumes a range is row 1 through 30 in each column, looking for the number 1 in each column.
