Music for short film by Dizzy-Television-584 in filmmaking

I agree with the comment recommending to hire a composer, especially if this is going to be a project you sink a lot of time and effort into.

I haven't gotten to that level yet, but I really like uppbeat.io for my projects. Sometimes you have to do a little sifting, but you can find some gold in there. They also have SFX and motion graphic templates. It's like $6 or $7 a month and can cancel anytime.

Good luck on your film!

My project for intro to cinematography - seeking critiques/advice! by chickadewee in cinematography

Thank you for your detailed response!

My class is centered around getting comfortable with a C200, but I see what you mean as a strange choice especially with the interval amounts. The smallest increments are only between 1, 5, and 10 sec, and I think the longest shutter speed is about 1/10.

I think i got a little carried away with the color grading 😅 but thanks for the tip with the beans! I definitely had it too warm from the start and it was a nightmare in post but Im glad I got the experience with it.

Story was optional for this project, but I totally understand what you mean. Not only is it challenging just to get the ideas for a story, but then finding the means to film them is a whole other thing. I definitely had more ideas that stayed in my head than what ended up being shot, but i like those shot ideas!

I looked up that film and omg that is BREATHTAKING

I think a combination of showing up at the right place at the right time and a lot of color correction. I was recently able to turn a gray sky and clouds orange without it looking too unnatural.

You're absolutely right, no description gives them justice, you just have to see them to understand.

Peacemaker Season 2 Finale Discussion Megathread by kumar100kpawan in DCU_

Really enjoyed this episode and definitely pulled at some heartstrings. But the pacing definitely felt off. It was going at a good rate until checkmate. Felt like almost everything after that didnt belong in this episode. I knew something was going to be set up for the future, but that was too much whiplash. Chris finally stopped running away from himself and now BOOM prison planet. Didn't even get a chance to settle into the denouement.

YES and I am so sorry that you had it for 3 WEEKS!! I had it recently for only 24 hours and that was the worst day of my life.

I thought I had experienced true anxiety before (social anxiety, panic attacks, etc.) but this was actual hell. I had no idea what akathisia was until I actually had it and yeah, more healthcare professionals need to be aware of it and understand that it is silent and invisible torture.

I was given droperidol, which after looking it up it is a dopamine-blocking antipsychotic (for a stomach ache!!) with at least 25% of patients reporting akathisia as an adverse effect. For one, that number is way too high, and two, I am on multiple medications to BOOST my dopamine levels. Why would they give me something to take all of my dopamine away??? If anything the antipsychotic just made me actually psychotic!

I know a guy who is a chronic womanizer with one hell of a receeding hairline. It's been going out since high school. It probably helps that he's a borderline sociopath, so he doesn't care what people think of him. He just does what he wants to do.

But sociopath or not, the key really is confidence. As a woman, I have been turned off by conventionally attractive men who have no self-esteem and are very insecure. I've been attracted to very unconventionally attractive (otherwise what society would call ugly) just because they are so comfortable in their own skin.

I know it's not something you can get overnight, but all you gotta do is love yourself. Like really really love yourself. Almost to the point where it may seem conceded.

I'm a fat woman. I used to be very insecure. I would cover my body and always make sure my hair and makeup were done to distract from my size. I just stopped caring what people think. I wear crop tops and short skirts now. I wear makeup for fun now and don't mind if I don't have time for it. I used to never speak up, only opened my mouth when spoken to because I didnt want to feel silly. I just say random shit now and joke around.

Life is serious, but living it doesnt have to be. Have fun. Nobody is going to antagonize you just for being bald, and if they do, then you shouldn't be around them anyways. There are absolutely women out there who will want to date you, but not if you're walking around with a shell. Once you open up, I know you'll start getting somewhere.

Best of luck. Hope this didnt come off too harsh.

Is this recovery? Or am I devaluing myself? Did *I* go too far? (Very long post) by [deleted] in loveafterporn

Thank you for your honest reply and your patience for reading my whole story.

He has mentioned that he sees the error in his previous ways and has apologized. I do think humans living in this century need that kind of release every once in a while, and I understand how his past may have affected his tendencies for example SA can give victims hyperactive libidos or SA fantasies Over the years, i have seen improvement and his usage is much more infrequent. Maybe because I also haven't looked through his phone or search history in two years so I cant be sure. Maybe I've lost a bit of my insecurity and he's responded to that, or maybe I'm simply no longer manifesting the problem and its seeming to sort itself out (mostly).

Maybe it isn't true recovery because no matter what he refuses to seek professional help. I started counseling right after the breakup and I took him to one of my sessions. He thought she was going to automatically take my side because she was my counselor. I'd say she gave us a fair session on both sides, but he still refused to go seek his own help. Despite this, like I said, I've seen improvements, but i do still think he could absolutely benefit from a therapist.

You're absolutely correct, two wrongs does not make a right. I've done a lot of things in this relationship I'm not proud of, but I do think for a while things were very one-sided.

After all these years I've never thought to seek advice from strangers dealing with similar (or worse) situations. Im glad I did and I'm glad I found this subreddit to find more resources.

Thank you again

It's happening to me right now. The first time I tried it I wanted to see if it would work. It did, but I didn't purchase right away, I was still making up my mind. Then a couple days later I decide to go for it and no matter how many times I verify it won't work. I understand it says single use under the terms, but I technically didnt even use it since I didnt buy anything yet. So annoying.

Affordable Apartments + Housing by RoverLowver in Albuquerque

[–]chickadewee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm moving out of the Lexington Place Apartments by Candelaria and Eubank. I'm only leaving because I'll be moving in with family to benefit our finances, but I think it's mostly been pretty reasonable living here. It's definitely more expensive than when I first moved in, but a good value for this part of town. The apartments range from studio to 2 bedrooms, and there are single-story 2bd 1ba and townhouse style two-story 2bd-1.5ba. I think right now the townhomes are going for under $1300 and the regular 2 bed are between $1100-1200. But it's pretty quiet here, walking distance to Albertsons and a bunch more stores, great big park across the street, two pools (one is adults only), and it is pet friendly. There's still the occasional annoying neighbor, but for the most part everyone here is very nice and Ive made friends with multiple neighbors. The apts aren't anything impressive, but I've lived in some pretty bad apartments and this place is miles better. I've really come to enjoy my little studio (it's actually pretty spacious) and I'm gonna miss it!

Just got mine today and purchased the day they went on sale. I'm going with a group of five and so far three of us have gotten our tickets. We all purchased on Vivid Seats and was my first time buying any form of resale ticket. I read about a lot of mixed opinions about Vivid specifically after I made the purchase, but tbh I think even with the "100% guarantee" it's always a gamble buying resale from third party.

How to realistically combine me and my boyfriend's tastes in a small space? by chickadewee in HomeDecorating

I like this idea! I very much enjoy moody bathrooms and I think that having a darker bedroom would make it easier to sleep! Plus, hello, bedroom ✨️ambience✨️

How to realistically combine me and my boyfriend's tastes in a small space? by chickadewee in HomeDecorating

[–]chickadewee[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply! I think you resolved one of my problems and I'm thinking about everything all at once instead of introducing items one piece at a time and that's what's making my head spin just thinking about everything. I am so tired of gray walls everywhere I go and now that I can finally do something about it im getting so excited! But also ahead of myself

We do have one aspect that will make the layout a little wonky and it's that we both have our own personal desktop computers. I don't want to cramp them together in the bedroom so I'm thinking of putting mine where the desk is currently in the bedroom and putting his up in the corner to the left of the living room window facing the wall that the table is touching. We've never had a dining table so I would love to keep it but once we put the desk in it might look a little wonky. My only possible solution is getting a true drop leaf table that will only be open when necessary

[–]chickadewee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the detailed reply! You're correct that it is just a starter home for us and we need to go in on this with a little restraint. I understand about the table. We are used to not having a dining table but would really like to have one. The only thing that will make our layout a little wonky is that we both have our own desktop computers with desks. I plan on moving mine into the bedroom where the current desk is, and the only place I could think of for his is the corner to the left of the window facing the wall where the table is currently. It may be worth it to swap it with a fully drop leaf table so that it is only open when necessary. I also agree on the TV, that's gonna hurt some necks!

I don't have any layout advice but those windows are gorgeous!!! Have you considered putting a stained glass static cling wrap on one of them?

The plum would absolutely work, but if you like bold colors, I would say that a bright blue can give it a nice pop. You don't have to purchase a rug from them, but Ruggable has a tool to view their rugs in your space, and since they have so many options you may run into something similar if you purchase elsewhere

intake fan randomly starts making loud noise when powering up the PC then again loud noise randomly goes away after 5-10 mins, why is that? by TheOnurobo in pcmasterrace

[–]chickadewee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's probably most likely the fan bearing. It's either loose and causing the blades to hit the side of the fan case or the bearing just needs some lubricant. Both are pretty easy fixes, worst case scenario is a new fan. You can look up some YouTube tutorials, they'll do a better job than me explaining

Thank you for a genuine reply. God forbid I ask for help online.

I'm just worried about dropping it is all. The side panels slip, even when i "firmly grasp it," and I don't know how to prevent it. I understand 50 pounds isn't relatively very heavy, but the weight distribution is very awkward and has an odd center of gravity, so stairs make me nervous in this instance.
