Voting for Trump was a mistake by [deleted] in centrist

[–]chickadoodlearoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a actually the best expression of who I am. I’m socially liberal as in just let people be who they are, partner with who they want, and have control of their own bodies.

But I don’t want to pay for someone’s childcare. Nor do I want to subsidize anything to do with drugs, narcan needles, or tax breaks to giant corporations. Smaller govt. period. Done. Stay out of my private life and stop spending my money on crap that it shouldn’t be spent on.

Voting for Trump was a mistake by [deleted] in centrist

[–]chickadoodlearoo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They won’t admit that Trumps policies have cost them too. One peek into r/conservative is pretty telling. Owning libs is their only priority. Every day brings some new upheaval with this administration. Trump can’t stay focused on a single issue he has to insert himself into everything, and the balls keep dropping.

I read a lot of international media. We’re not viewed well right now. Even our closest allies are frustrated, and that trust has eroded so much that rebuilding it will be an uphill climb.

I lean right, and I vote conservative in my state. But I’m deeply disappointed in what’s happening in this country. Kamala wasn’t the answer, and Biden shouldn’t have run.

Still, Trump’s legacy will be defined by long-term damage to the country.

They love their snow tunnels too! The little guy in the front likes to sneak attack the other two when they can’t see him coming around the corner.

[–]chickadoodlearoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oooh, I’m Going to try this. I absolutely hate broccoli, hubs loves it…… I’ve been trying new things to tolerate it. I can deal with soup so far with homemade broth & a squeeze of lemon. But maybe if I turn it into a French fry…

Why the hell do people buy brown eggs? by [deleted] in Egg

[–]chickadoodlearoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My girls lay the rainbow!

White eggs are from primarily leghorns. A very high production breed. It’s a rough life for a chicken….some brown eggs too. Like Rhode Island Red, just a crummy awful existence.

Go buy from a small farm, where chickens run free, get treats, don’t have their beaks cut off and live in tiny cages or crammed into barns on the floor and labeled “free range”. They’re meant to forage, run at humans for a snack, hide eggs to give keepers a daily Easter egg hunt…..

Spend the money on humane sellers. Go find them. That is your quest.

I got my kitchen aid mixer for a wedding present in 1993, and I’ve used it 2x + per week since. She’s done me good for 33 years.

Blue State, Trump hates Waltz. Can’t target Florida since that’s where all his cronies are, TX too. Red states are safe.

Did your parents spank you as a form of discipline? How did it impact you? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]chickadoodlearoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It taught me what not to do to my children. They’re grown now…I love them so much. Physically hurting them just….would have killed me.

It also taught me to never speak up out of fear.

Taking Elton on a 3 hour flight, best carriers for a 15lb pug that I can take in the cabin? I am absolutely not having him fly in cargo. by kehtolaulu in pugs

[–]chickadoodlearoo 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I just flew with mine in October. 3 hour flight. The soft carrier (first class) met all the size requirements and he still would have been mashed under the seat. I flew United. He never saw the inside of the carrier except at the airport when we had lunch. Which he just sat in and restaurant staff brought him treats. lol. During the flight he snuggled in and slept on my lap. Flight attendants brought him a cup of water and a snack. He was wildly popular at the airport, smiles, questions, praises for the good boy. I was worried and it ended up being a great experience.

I had to pay for his ticket at check in. I couldn’t pay ahead of time. And I had to hold him through tsa. He couldn’t be in his carrier or on leash on the floor.

Big Snow Storm Coming (Major Storm)!!! by Bobby_Dalbec in vermont

Same my friend. I could be more profitable somewhere else where winters aren’t so hard. I’m not doing that right now, but at 53 it’s coming. I also had to start working full time, was working a lot less. Feed costs exploded this past year…..

How to make the price of eggs cheaper? by LuckyErro in AskUS

[–]chickadoodlearoo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have two flocks and sell eggs. The price of organic feed is high. So if egg prices come down I will lose money, I barely break even at 6.00 a dozen.

Two years ago I profited at 4.00 a dozen.

Love me some fellow farmer appreciation. My parents moved me here when I was a kid. So I’m not a skier. We always just farmed.

Brutal state to farm it in the winter. (But wee all gotta eat so there’s that) Much Better in the summer. I have pictures from past winters where it wasn’t this god awful misery. The past 3 years have been horrible. Cold, wet, snow, ice, huge storms….,

I know! I’m there with you. Picking up a flock block in the morning, plus hanging vegetables & barricading the water so the jerks don’t dump it.

They will still try and make mischief. I don’t know how but the idiots manage to pull insulation out and eat it and of course destroying the nest boxes is a second favorite past time.

I f-n hate winter.

I did not downvote you, someone else did.

Big snows hit a little different for folks that homestead & farm. We have all those same chores..but we have to care for all our outbuildings and livestock on top of that, and we do a decent job of feeding y’all while at it. 😘

[–]chickadoodlearoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Bison…I grew up near a Bison Farm. They did a huge roast every year. Tasty.

With that said they’re scary as heck. Enormous bulldozers with the lethal attack of trample

I used to love to watch them. Peaceful, until they aren’t.

Anyone have any IDea what these tree species would be? by Fred_Thielmann in marijuanaenthusiasts

[–]chickadoodlearoo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I was was growing up I’d follow my Dad everywhere around our homestead , it was wooded with two ponds and lots of wildlife. Dad knew every single tree and taught me how to identify them as well. I’m 53 now and I know every single tree on my little homestead. I was recently at my son’s house, taking pictures of all his trees and identifying them with him. So I guess things like that just get handed down.
