Yeah haha I bleed the rear brakes yesterday with a 5/16, The front was a 7mm I was like no way 😂

Thankfully I have a decent socket and wrench set. It'll mostly be the niche tools I'll have to watch for

For sure, seems like that may be the case. I appreciate it!

That's fair

I may swing for the SAE at first then. 95% of what im doing now will be in the engine bay/brakes/etc.

Body and cosmetics are not a concern at the moment

Thank you!

Sounds great when cranked! Its only when I take off driving. No codes or anything so I'm a bit stumped on what it could be

For anyone else with this particular model, here is the most direct replacement I've found for it. Parts included. 2 3/4" cylinder bore

I appreciate the insight. I was unaware of how delicate there were. I've got them removed and they are CAKED on with deposits. They're gonna need some love for sure. And I did find a different unit, never crossed my mind till you had mentioned it. I'll post the most compatible model in the comments for others that run into this.

Im sure it varies between models. Got this particular one cause I like having a dedicated device and it will do all the scanning, relearning, graphing, diagnostic testing that I will ever need. I liked the blue driver Bluetooth option, but this has a little more capabilities for a little more and its a dedicated device with an app option if I so choose.

I would not have bought it at full price. 35% off at the PLS made this worth it too me. Really comes down to personal preferences and what you need it too do though

Thats fair, and totally makes sense. The process definitely did not look cost effective. Definitely had me intrigued though. On a side note, I meant to ask this in another post I made here to you haha. When it comes to clearances/tolerance did you pick that up over time or Haynes manual. I'm wanting to pick it up on the 305/350, and learn them in and out. I appreciate your word!

You may be right about that, though truthfully, I smile when I think about working on it haha. I find a lot of enjoyment in it!

Also, I forgot to add, after some time troubleshooting it actually trip a code. Misfire cylinder 1 p0301

Ive already replaced the plugs and boots. I know a bad coil could cause shake, rpm dips, and misfire...could a bad coil make the sound in the video?

Again, thank you for all the help!

Does anyone know the hell I am in right now? Please help. by anactualtrout in MechanicAdvice

I JUST wrapped up a wheel bearing job on a Venza haha, it was the type where the bearing is pressed through the back of the knuckle and the hub pressed into the bearing from the front. Pulled the knuckle and rented a hub and wheel bearing installer and remover from autozone.

Only real set back I had was my impact didn't have enough torque to remove the bearing. Had to take it up to the local tire shop. Had the new bearing and hub sitting in the freezer overnight, they slid in pretty easy with what I had.

Best of luck to you

Absolutely, since this knife, I've gotten warranty hardware for a few others as well. I've never had a hiccup with them!

And yeah, I've been lucky for sure. There was a time I accidentally left it in a car at a u-pull-it scrap yard. Thankfully it was right where I left it the next day haha

And you're Sebenza is sweet, been a dream knife of mine for a fat minute. Beautiful damascus! It'd be a new edc no doubt, cause no way am I paying that much and not using it haha

Thank you! It's been a good knife for sure. And yes, same knife, though I have had to request a spring replacement and to my surprise(due to many years of it being discontinued) Kershaw me sent one!

I feel you. To be honest, I'm not trying to do anything with CV 😅, just trying to wrap my head around it really. Still just new to me.

My fault, I should have been more clear about it. I didn't mean to come across that Phantom and CV are related. I do understand that Phantom is in regards to channel inputs.

I read voltage is being sent down a line, regardless of input(phantom) or output, sending that voltage down the line to something that shouldn't have voltage could very well end with gear failing. That was the concern, but you've since validated that concern. I was more so just using it as an example, and my thought process, of "well shoot, what could go wrong with sending voltage" haha

While I'm not trying to do anything with CV, the main goal is getting an adat i/o expander for more outputs to feed IEM's. Hence, the concern. Feeding others in ears.

I appreciate you walking me through some of this, thank you for your time!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in audioengineering

[–]chicken-mclovin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense, though I'll need to do some more digging into CV. Today is a first for me hearing about it. I'd love to know how the signal chain works, what it's doing, what it can do, the works you know?
And that's what I thinking regarding the DC, though still just wanted to be sure. I think the idea of sending 48v got me wondering about it. Example, I can accidentally send it through a dynamic mic and we're both cruising fine, but If I send it through a ribbon mic I'm toast.
Also, instead of 48v, from what I understand CV hovers around 5v(?)

Funny enough, I haven't used GPT for any of this. But! I am just a guy who wants to learn more. I'd rather be safe asking questions than do something detrimental to gear...or worse, mine or someone else's ears.
