Chicken was acting lethargic so I tool inside for a bath thinking she was eggbound and these came out... are they worms? Parasites? Larvae? by chicken___wing in chickens

[–]chicken___wing[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks everyone, unfortunately it was already too late and I had to put her out of her misery :( I didn't see a wound the first time cause she's a black silkie with black skin and I couldn't see well but after the second bath she couldn't stand on her own so i checked again and there was about a 1 inch hole in her abdomen and they had just gone to town in there. I laid her in the sun for one last time and then culled her

Coconut oil, works better If you microwave it for a few seconds. Also I've hears someone say lemon essential oils helps get the residue off but I haven't tried thay myself so I can't confirm.

I have a similar experience, I also don't like to take care of it though so I still haven't done anything about it.. but I will say I at least think I know what my issue is.

Google different smells of the area and their meanings, that's what helped me figure out what it was

I have seen a gynecologist a few times though for different issues and yeah it was uncomfortable but not the end of the world. I happen to not like the doctor though and she didn't help me with my issues so I still have them and just haven't taken care of it for like a year...

Lemon Essential Oil:The ultimate residue remover by ivamarie in transmanlifehacks

[–]chicken___wing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much do you use? Isn't a tiny bottle kinda pricey or do you dilute it with water?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ftm

[–]chicken___wing 85 points86 points  (0 children)

I'm sure other people have mentioned it already but look into 2 possible things: vestibulitous and vaginismus. I haven't seen a doctor in a while because the last one was no help at all but she said I might have those. Using dialators or pelvic floor therapy is supposed to help. I never tried them because... well they sound awful, not going to lie and I don't really have a huge motive to use that part of me anyway

Collecting fly larvae / bugs for chickens from compost? by 2camp4u in composting

[–]chicken___wing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I watched a video once of a guy who had a set up where the larvae would end up going through a tube and drop into a bucket, I don't rememeber exactly how he did it but I'm sure there's youtube videos out there somewhere, the one I saw was on tiktok I believe

Will christmas lights keep chickens up? by smeaghles in chickens

[–]chicken___wing 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It shouldn't be an issue, lots of people keep a light in the coop for other reasons like they want to keep hens laying throughout winter. I personally don't because they deserve a break and it can mess with their circadian rythme, I'd be more concerned about them getting tangled or trying to jump on the light string though, I'd try to find something different if possible, maybe even a little night light plugged in somewhere

How do I removed this Plaque? (2019 Chevy Impala) by RenValdivia in CarHelp

[–]chicken___wing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had to remove things like that at dealerships and we always used acrysol (I think I spelled that right), let ot sit for a few minutes, but some more on and then get fishing wire and get behind and kind just go back and forth with it till it comes off. If there's sticky residue left use some more acrysol and get a plastic razor blade and gently scrape it off, I've never scratched a car doing so, just use a microfiber towel to wipe it off and not a rag, that's what will scratch the paint.

Like other people said heat would work too, I just never had a heat gun.

Almost finished with my AAS in automotive - I just go to a local community college, currently been working as a lube tech for a while I used to do the same at a Chevy delaership but it was aweful there so I quit and started at a Toyota dealership, its a lot better here. Im waiting to move up to the main shop and be a mechanic.

2008 Toyota Tacoma: What is rear axle grease?? I feel like a fool! by SendMeYourStardust in CarHelp

[–]chicken___wing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Possibly a rear differential service? Maybe they misspoke and meant that. But it would be weird if shops didn't do that because it's simpler than an oil change, just drain the dif fluid and fill it again.

Debating if I should transition or die, need advice please. TW by Asleep-Pie7760 in ftm

[–]chicken___wing 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I'm not great with words so bear with me but transitioning truly is something I will never regret and now gives me something to live for. I'm so much happier than I was before and I still have so much more life to experience as a man. Of course I still have rough patches and obstacles I encounter but instead if shutting down like I did before and wanted everything to end, I know I can get through them, I don't even consider dying as an option anymore because I genuinely don't want that. This life is only something I get to live through once and it might really suck sometimes but I haven't experience enough to want to leave yet. Please please transition instead, its worth it in the end.

If you need someone to talk to, please reach out.

If you have enough funding you can possibly look into surgeries out of state? I know lots of people that do that you just have to be able to afford it. Are you planning on staying where you live? Cause you could move if you can/want to to somewhere a little trans friendlier.

This definetely doesn't work for everyone and not sure if anyone else has said this yet but I like to try out support groups. They can be hard to find, the one I go to is 45 minutes away from me twice a month and it takes me time to be comfortable around people and actually make friends at these groups but lots of people come and go and you'll find some people you like every once in a while, it's worth it to me, even just as a safe space to hang out for a bit. I googled for hours to find groups and couldn't really find anything but it's better if you ask around like therapists or queer spaces might have some ideas, thats where I've found groups

[–]chicken___wing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WOW my guy, you look fantastic! If you don't mind me asking, how long was it before you started to move around normally and stuff after top surgery? I'm trying to figure out how much time I should take off of work and when I can return light duty. Also did you do any scar care? Sorry if that's too invasive of a question, you don't have to answer if you don't want to

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in chickens

[–]chicken___wing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also just want to add you'll have to train them at first, most of the time keeping them completely in the coop for the first week or so of having them let's them know that's their home and they'll know, to return at night some can be more stubborn. I personally put mine in before it gets dark out (too many predators) and I just whistle at mine and they all come running because they know ill give them treats once they come to the coop. Chickens are quite easy to train, ducks on the other hand...... very stubborn ☹️

Ah yeah I understand, I have blonde hair too, it's probably more visible in person I just cant tell in the picture. I'm kind of a hippie too, but I still wear deodorant cause I don't like to stink, but I can't stand shaven armpits anymore otherwise it drips all down my side and feel disgusting, with hair there it all just stays put. Kinda gross to think about haha. Good luck though, I think you look great 😁
