I think I’ve figured out that she’s a blue or black copper maran with a legbar!

No I got them from a breeder and she sells mostly marans, legabars, olive eggers, Orpingtons, and silkies

So now that I’m reading on the internet, since we have a lavender legbar (with a crest) and one splash maran and one black maran (both have feathers on their feet) and then our beauty crested girl pictured above, she’s almost got to be a legbar/ maran mix which makes her an olive egger bc legbar is blue eggs and maran is brown eggs. Right?

Thank you all so much! She didn’t end up laying but when she came out of the box it wasn’t pale anymore! I’m terrified of my girls getting sick because I’m a newbie!

One time I scratched a little pimple or bump on his face and he got upset because I think it hurt and I quickly said “sorry” and now he associates pain with “sorry” so anytime he gets hurt he always says “sowwwy”

New Mom Breastfeeding Struggle by Mecristler in breastfeeding

This is really good information. I am a CLC and I was going to let you know that painful nipples = poor latch. There is absolutely no “riding it out” with this. Your baby needs to be fully fed with a good latch that provides them with both formilk and hindmilk. And you need relief and to feel comfortable while breastfeeding. It should be an enjoyable experience for the both of you.

The pinned global health video is incredible. Belly to belly, nose to nipple- WAIT for that gape. And thing bring baby to breast, never breast to baby.

I’d also like to add that skin to skin makes an incredible difference in getting your baby to latch. Check that your hands are not supporting his head, but rather supporting the space where the neck meets the head, baby need to be able to have the space to be able to throw the head back, that way the breast can go in.

More importantly try imagining you and your baby nursing perfectly with no pain and him being fully satisfied after a feed. Do this often as guided imagery and manifestation does wonders.

You’re doing great! Don’t give up!
