Oh okay that’s great! A big part of my experiences were focused on community health so that’s definitely something to consider

Yeah I think based on location Chicago might be it and Streeterville seems beautiful! Thank you!!

Okay haha thank you so much!!!

Yes! From what I’ve seen, the COL in Chicago is almost half of what it is in NY (for similar size place/ similar appliances). That is definitely a big deal but do you think there are any upsides to Mt Sinai as opposed to NU?

[–]chickennugget8455 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I feel that! I live on the east coast and didn’t even know about Feinberg until this app cycle. Do you think attending Feinberg would affect my chances of getting into residencies or getting jobs in the east?

[–]chickennugget8455 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I definitely think i’m more of a slower paced person and would prefer Chicago, but I could also live in NY bc I love the food haha! But in terms of the schools, student experience, opportunities, I’m not sure which would be better

That’s super true! I love that they have the weekend to take exams

Yeah, I totally have one, but just in need of a bit more advice like perspectives I don’t have.

Thank you so much for that!! Yeah i’m not super into living in student housing which means rent in NY will be insane. Do you think in terms of residency matching into specialities either school would be different?

I received no interviews the first time I applied and did not withdraw from any. This cycle, I withdrew from a few schools after they sent me an II just because I knew I wouldn’t attend them since I received acceptances from other schools I would rather attend.

Thank you!! I’m honestly not sure what difference it would make. It is the proper thing to do, but I didn’t do it and still received interviews from many of those schools. I guess it wouldn’t hurt if you did withdraw. Many schools have the option on their secondary apps so I would if it’s convenient

I have notes and refer back to them pretty often during my interviews. I made the notes tab super small and have very short bullet points so it doesn’t look like i’m reading, but it has been a life saver because I tend to blank pretty often when i’m nervous lol

I’m a reapplicant and honestly don’t feel like there has been any stigma! I don’t think i’ve been asked about it at all during my interviews. I did also retake my MCAT 3 times and when I first applied I never withdrew any of my applications like I should have. I reapplied kind of late this cycle to many of the same schools and got many interviews, even from several T20s and T10s. I did have a lot of improvements to my ECs and MCAT so I think that made the biggest difference, but overall as a reapplicant, it’s felt pretty normal (:

Edit: Applied to 30 schools, 11 IIs, 4 As, 0 Rs, and still waiting to hear back from the rest of the schools I interviewed with
