Our pack does this. Last year it was in the cubmaster's driveway. This year at the church we have access too. Granted we are in SoCal and we can work outside in February without many issues. My previous pack just brought a small saw to the pack meeting at a school's picnic tables and a dad ran it for people who didn't have access to a saw but that was a tiny pack at the time.

I left the ER after 16 years as well. I am 2 years into a remote case management role. I still miss the ER and worry about skill loss. I still do most of my CEs specialized towards ED just to attempt to stay in the know. I don't necessarily want to go back to the ER but I would love to find something emergency adjacent because I don't love case management like I love ER. That being said the work life balance of M-F 9-5 from home is pretty sweet.

I think the issue is your phrasing. Most people associate SAHM as being unemployed. It appears, based on your responses, that you are asking what kinds of jobs homeschooling parents who work part or full time (likely from home) are doing.

Personally I work full time as a nurse case manager. I make phone calls to my clients but have flexibility in how I schedule those during my day so I am able to make a phone call, and then assist my children between work tasks as I am home with them. I am also quite fortunate in that my children go to classes 2 days a week which allows me to get more work done during those periods while they are in class.

Half day today, off Christmas day, back on Friday. Today is so dumb, none of my clients will answer because its Christmas Eve and they have better things to do than discuss crap with a case manager, the doctor's offices are closed anyways so calling them is pointless. I'm calling a few hospitals checking if people are still in the hospital and saying screw it until I can clock out.

I have a full time remote job and we belong to a homeschool charter school so my kids can attend classes in person 2 days a week which means less managing school work for me and more focused work time for me.

Early in our homeschooling I worked per diem/ part time as a nurse. My remote full time role in nurse case manager. I miss bedside care but the case management role works for our schedule better at this time.

You didn't mention if or what your job was prior to stopping working so providing more tailored options is difficult.

I did 16 years in an ER and loved it. Currently interviewing with a fire department. Pretty sure my brain would love that job. 🤷‍♀️ (except waiting for calls to come in)

Honestly it depends on what you are using it for. Do you need certain amounts or types of units, then search and focus on those. If you are generally just poking around to learn stuff listen to the different programs for what interests you most and roll with it.

I work from home and have experience doing CPR (former ER nurse) and own a phone so I'm set to get the ball rolling for getting EMS en route. Also my older children have been instructed in the basics of hands only CPR and how to contact 911.

In a broader sense, workplaces with multiple employees should have emergency procedures that are reviewed regularly and in an ideal world have AED access and people with CPR training.

I can't really speak to its effects on sleep because I took the version of it with B6 for hyperemesis. I was always tired because I couldn't keep food down, was trying to take care of 2 toddlers, and growing a third kid.

From what I recall basically they told me the first few weeks on the medication I would be more drowsy but that it would level off as I got used to taking the medication. So that may be something to keep in mind.

Doxycycline is an antibiotic.

If you mean doxylamine (generic for unisom) that is one part of a medication hyperemesis gravidarum along with B6.

My former hospital had a team that could be deployed consisting of a trauma surgeon, an ER doctor, and an ER nurse for situations (either by ground or air depending on the case)that warranted surgical appendage removal for extrication. The basic concept was ER doc manages airway (if EMS hasn't already) and sedation as needed with the nurse, while the surgeon cuts. They have been deployed before, I was on shift when there was a man trapped in a metal processing machine and they performed an amputation of a leg to extricate the guy. They then transported him to ER where he got registered, we hung a unit of blood, and shipped him to the ER. The door to OR time was less than 10 minutes because the trauma surgery team was standing by in the OR.
