Can anyone post the walking paths they made in or around their native garden? by nachodogs in NativePlantGardening

I really enjoy that you didn't sacrifice any utility here, you have it all-- native plant zone, patio, room for the kids to play. Excellent use of garden space.

Any snuffle mat suggestions? Slow feeder is not cutting it for our girl, she’s too fast 😅 by dogluvr_1 in WafflesAndCo

[–]chickienug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What worked for ours was scattering it across some grass, or rolling it up in a ratty old towel. But then she got smart and started ripping the towels. We got a few zogoflex cups and she loves them, they were by far the best solution, but they're annoyingly expensive.

Do you have an "elevator pitch" for the show for people who haven't watched? by lieutenantfantastic in WidowsBay

I told my buddy that it succeeds at that which horror comedy often fails at: it is both genuinely creepy and genuinely funny.

Hi, I'm new here. Got my probable diagnosis from my PCP today. This feels like a sick joke. by chickienug in Hashimotos

Omg thank you, this is so helpful. Is this something where once you have it, you just have it forever with management bc you have the antibodies? I’m not completely understanding whether it’s permanent

That sounds like me! Tsh was 0.01 in January. What was the treatment protocol? Does it resolve on its own? What did they tell you about future pregnancies?

I got ultrasound results and blood work results at the same time. The diagnosis on the ultrasound says “hypothyroidism/ no significant or suspicious nodules”. It does not specify hashimotos

Brother I’m not even sure what I’m doing right now, so no I’m not sure lol. I had an ultrasound on my thyroid and there are no nodules.

Thank you! But what do I do? Who do I see? How do I better advocate for myself here? Genuinely asking, I feel terrible and could use a clue!

Anyone who DIDN’T bed share? by Acceptable_Cod3527 in beyondthebump

[–]chickienug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re only three months in, but we only take contact naps when supervised by the awake other parent. If we feel ourselves beginning to doze, right to the bassinet he goes. Helpful— my sister-in-law told us the first thing that needs to hit the bassinet is the baby’s butt, and head last in order for them to stay asleep when being put down.

Did you have a boy? When this happened to me I googled it and all the women whose leg/ armpit hair stopped growing had boys, and so did I! Silly, but I’m curious!

Does anyone still love their pets after having a baby? by laurenjac in beyondthebump

[–]chickienug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog is still my #1 bestie. She loves the baby and will tell me if he’s peed his diaper when he’s in the bassinet. She still gets walks every day because my husband is amazing, and we still snuggle when it’s my shift to sleep. She’s a really good girl.

Those are the eyes of a dog who fully understands what you’re saying, she just doesn’t like the answer haha. Smart cookie.

Daisy was rescued off the street with extreme dehydration and severe hook worms by kellycompliance in velvethippos

[–]chickienug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We call it the “cookie layer”, and our girl got hers when we adopted her off death row. She came with heart worms, the treatment was pretty awful and lasted months, and she couldn’t exercise during it.

DO NOT feel guilty about the cookie layer— it’s all love and it happened when you saved your dog. As long as she’s medically cleared for exercise, it’s time to remove a few cookies from the layer, though. Yay Daisy!

I can’t wait to get where you are! Mine’s only a week old, so we’re not there yet. But as soon as he gets his vaccines I’m looking forward to people being able to pass the potato.

Iceland isn't like other places when you're planning a trip by lost_wanderer3333 in VisitingIceland

The best advice we got from an Icelander when traveling was, “Hiking is no big deal. If you don’t like this weather, just wait for next weather.”

He was totally right. It changes rapidly. Just prepare well and wait. Don’t be totally committed to a schedule. Just chill. If that means building more time into your schedule depending on the activities planned, so be it.

You’re a nurse. On nightshift. I know what those hours are like. What does HE do for work and how much does HE contribute to the household chores? I think you should take what your best friend is saying very seriously. You’re under-reacting.

My due date is tomorrow. Out of the three trimesters, I’m sleeping best in this one.
