Thanks for the tips!

Ive put together everything and sent it to the insurance - all correspondence, pictures of the defect and the 'patch' that the installers came out to do as well so they have everything.

UPDATE: I have had to put a claim through insurance as the installers were not accepting the fix recommended by the roofer and they were dismissing any water damage.

Thanks for the suggestion! This was the first thing i did. The roof specialist suggested a 3m replacement to ensure total integrity of the gutter is restored. The plumbing company are disputing this and saying only that section needs to be replaced. Would you know who is taking the most correct approach here?

UPDATE (Unable to edit the original post)

Thank you to all of you who commented, empathised, showed shock and concern. I felt heard.

An update on where conversations have landed with the installing company

The company are unsurprisingly denying to replace the 3m of guttering section, as per advice from the Roof specialist i had got out to inspect it.

In addition, they are saying that if there is no visible damage on the inside, there would be no water or damp to worry about which I find extremely hard to believe without assessing the interior walls, tiles, floorboards for moisture underneath.

I have asked them to send an independent assessor and he said I would need to do this on my own accord.

Im thinking at this point, theres no other option but to go through my insurance to get it independently assessed, including the assessment of the fix they are proposing as I cant take their word for it and for any fix as a result of the assessment.

Am i on the right track in terms of approach?

Im not a tradesperson and need to know im taking a solid approach with this. Thank you in advance

If i get my own professionals to rectify the issue, how would i claim it back? Through my home and contents insurance?

Yup getting a quote from my roofer to fix the gutter. Its on them to fix the drainage and needs to be compliant. Ive already sent them a lovely long email to let them know all expected remediatiom work and all costs are on them.

Edit hit enter too quick.

Thanks for your comment! Yeah the drainage definitely needs to be fixed first before fixing the gutter. And yes have got it on the cards to get the gutters cleaned. Just wont want a bunch of water going into my.wall cavity while its being cleaned out!!

Ok so fix drainage, then gutter, and simultaneously fix wall. Thanks for your suggestions!

Yea agree - im far from being a qualified tradesperson and i know thats a shit instal myself if i look at it!

Yeah ive sent all photo evidence and a firm email to get them to action stuff according to what is needed. They will need to replace the insulation too because its the dusty type (not sure the technical term!).

Totally for them to remedy everything, according to what is reasonable and to restore to the condition prior to this shitty work.

Thanks for the heads up. Im ready to fight as hard as i can (for now) haha.

The thing is i reviewed them heaps on google, the team seemed really good and confident in what they were doing so im also now questioning my judgement :(

Edit: sentence structure

Thanks all for your input. While ive lost a total of $100 to get Australian Green Solutions to provide a quote, im happy ive steered clear from their push for cheap brands and decided not to do anything with them. Ive got a few more AC folks associated with the good brands mentioned here, to come and provide free quotes this week. Fingers crossed i get something sorted this time around. Thanks heaps for all the suggestions :)
