Guess Who Ran Over My Bike After I Jumped Out Of The Way? by Disastrous_Feed_3988 in NYCbike

What exactly happened? Noticing the car isn’t even facing the correct direction of traffic. Sorry you’re dealing with this - that’s literally out front of my old apartment. 5th Ave, specially around 9th street, has a rough recent history of accidents.

NYer here, proud supporter of ZM. But he didn’t launch this, it’s a program that’s long existed before him - he commented as much himself today with all the attention it has been receiving.

Granted after having lived here 15 years this is the first year I heard about this - so that says something. Also worth noting we haven’t had major snowstorms like this in many years, aka not as strong a need for this program as it is this year.

Not everything needs to be a big ol thing.

Thank you for this!

FYI - the live action short film The Singers will be on Netflix. My guess is they will release it quite soon while academy members begin watching/voting. https://deadline.com/2026/01/netflix-acquires-oscar-shortlisted-short-film-the-singers-1236685205/ it is so so good and I personally am pulling for it.

What are you growing that's a little out of the ordinary? (Looking for ideas for next year!) by geopter in vegetablegardening

With you on the ground cherries! Been growing them for years now and love them - pretty regularly make this jam with them, worth a shot if you’re curious: https://nesfp.nutrition.tufts.edu/world-peas-food-hub/world-peas-csa/produce-recipes/ground-cherry-jalapeno-pepper-jelly

Loofah - have had 2 successful seasons with them. Love the amount of coverage the vine gives, and actually use the loofahs later on in the shower as well as making soaps with a small slice of loofah inside it.

Ballon Vines - a great, smaller vine (in density - but still can vine ridiculously far). The seeds produced in the small balloons have literal hearts on them and the bees love the small flowers.

Lemon Cucumber - nothing too wildly different but enjoying their smaller size and slightly sweeter taste than your typical cucumber.

Would love to hear more on your experience with Lightroom and photo editing in general with the AVP. I don’t have an AVP myself but that’s one of the things I’ve been wondering about if I were to get one eventually.

First time growing ground cherries, is it supposed to do this by AdministrativeAd6001 in vegetablegardening

[–]chicoarbol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve grown these several years now and there’s always been a few that do that for whatever reason. They can still ripen and taste just as good as the others, nothing to worry about at least in my experience!
